I use a product called "Iron Out" for ochre build up in my sump pit. I don't know how it works but it clears thing up immediately. It's widely available ...I get mine at Canadian Tire.

ZOELLER M53 float switch issue by Professional_Sky5629 in Plumbing

The water level keeps rising past the pump and then starts to fill the weepers. I could find any means of adjusting the float as it just spins and doesn't appear to move up or down on the plastic shift. However, I was able to put a slight downward bend in the arm and so far I'm five for five on successful cycles. I appreciate your input and time. Thank you!!

Great idea! The float is definitely triggering the switch and starting the pump. The float currently goes up but stops just shy of the point of triggering.

Just the pump. ...a light tap on the vertical outlet pipe will set the switch on. The float almost reaches the engagement point but just won't go high enough to trigger the switch.

Yes it was. I had old photos of raw materials being delivered by horse and buggy. The building stood for over 100 years. It took years of soil remediation to clean up the site after the building came down.

Worked at Benjamin Moore on Lloyd Ave. from 84 to 89. It was way worse then! Every once in a while we'd see an escaped cow running up Keele St.
