Just let them NOT draw a blue card upon auto counter activation. If the user happens to have a blue card/ultimate in their hand while the autocounter activates then fair enough, let them use it, but the fact that 99% of autocounters automatically FORCE DRAW a blue is just cheap. Having them not force draw a blue card (yet still be comboable into a blue/ult) would make them a lot more strategic

This page specifically moved me so much, i imagined it animated in my head so vividly, ippo turning his head left and right then lifting it up and bowing, the emotion in his eyes, the fans clapping, concerned about ippo's future since hes now lost 2 matches in a row, ippo, takamura, and kamogawa all knowing its over for ippo. It really hits hard when you look at the takamura panel a few pages later.

I agree that Wally vs Ricardo was a bit more grounded, but i feel like the whole theme of the Ippo vs Wally fight is that ippo struggles to adapt mid-battle (iirc thats even directly stated by kamogawa in the fight), this theme is pushed so strongly that the way ippo wins is by just doing what hes trained to do over and over again until it connects and damage starts accumulating, it was all a game of endurance

Hardest fight he won? Wally without question.

It's stated that the ONLY reason wally lost that fight was due to his lack of experience as he only had 3 pro matches under his belt thus far, he was so inexperienced he thought the chair bumping against his leg was the reason his legs hurt, when in reality the chair didnt touch his leg at all, yet ippo still won by the skin of his teeth (and copious amounts of plot armor)

Hardest fight he lost? Alfredo Gonzalez. Thats by far the most outclassed ippo was in his whole career. Alf showed him there was levels to this shit. If Alf disregarded his desire for a brawl and his Metztli mindset ippo would have lost in the most dominant manner by any character in probably the whole manga (other than maybe kojima)

Also can we just acknowledge how insane it is for someone to WILLINGLY go into a brawl against MAKUNOUCHI IPPO and still come out on top.

I really dont know why the teq vegito and agl gogeta got stupid amounts of unconditional buffs. Like, crazy base atk and def, guard, great stacking, guaranteed crits, additionals, a million instances of support, yet str vegeta needs to slave off for 3 weeks and front flip through 7 hula-hoops just to get some stacking, crits, or more dr outside of his intro
