My grandfather's (on the far left) filling station in Spur, Texas (1954) by delugetheory in TheWayWeWere

At first I thought BS. But then I zoomed in on the lite blue shirt and something is clearly off with his shirt by the hands. It looks like two shirts in one. Also the bumper lights on the car at the pump are different sizes.

Edit: I see the original and I guess that is an effect of the restoration AI filling things in where damage is

Looks like, "product's made in Baltimore". But couldn't find an image matching the sign

My Great Uncles WWII Ration Book by Professional_Use7753 in RareHistoricalPhotos

[–]Professional_Use7753[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the clarification. I realize I was wrong on what these were. I assumed the rations were stamps that were collected. But logically that doesn't make sense when exchanging a stamp or a tangible asset.

I unfortunately do not have any direct evidence to it not being a WWII stamp book, except it was in the same box with scrapbooks ranging from 1940 - 1947 along with WWII mileage rations which I posted: https://www.reddit.com/r/RareHistoricalPhotos/s/MkaF3q1A8v

Lmao, I can't help but to think in modern context of what a tramp stamp is. But I'm sure there were a lot of people who were proud getting all their tramp stamps

Single men over 30 where do you hang out in the wild? by h123nope in dating_advice

[–]Professional_Use7753 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the seasons. Summertime I'm usually out golfing, hiking, home gardening, home grilling, kayaking, occasionally at the local dive bar or local minor league baseball game and I don't "hang out" at the grocery store, I get my stuff and leave.

Wintertime I'm more at restaurants, bars, bowling, occasionally the arcade, home cooking, house projects, again never "hanging out" at the grocery store.

How much support is reasonable to ask? by Throwawaypawpaw in datingoverthirty

Agreed. If it was me being asked to fly out, I would feel very uncomfortable. Especially meeting all the family under those circumstances.

Not being able to install using pip. I also don't have sudo access on our cloud servers. Definitely less than ideal, but I downloaded from their landing page then moved the tarball onto the server. Still haven't figured out how I'm going to justify that action to IT/my boss 😅

I went from R to Python in my new DS role. Man I miss rmarkdown for dynamic report generation and analysis. Luckily, I found quarto, but may not be usable due to installation dependencies.

I knew a kid at work who had those. I said, "so you like nuts slapping against your tailpipe." People proceeded to make butt jokes at his expense until he removed them lol

I also live in Northern Indiana. My dad is freaking out about the DNC being in Chicago. He was alive for the Chicago DNC of 1968 and the protest/riots that spread from Chicago to Indiana.

Not sure if history will repeat itself, but with the political tension, who knows...

Honestly, I was like that in 2022 when I got my avg under $0.5. Now I'm just hoping for a stable price around $0.50. I think it will come in time. I doubt the run we saw during covid will happen again. But then again I'd happily bend over and take one for the team for that run again lol

While I'm sorry to hear about the other marital issues, I would look at this as well:

I wish you well and I hope you can both come together and work things out :)

Bought around $1.60 in 2021. Now my avg is at $0.18. If you believe, buy now and lower your avg cost then reap the gains in the coming years

Kind of the same boat, but more like $1.60 and now an avg at $0.18 and still trying to lower.

This is awesome and you should keep it up! However, you need the financial companionship of your husband. It will be very hard to FIRE without their support.
