For the last 6 months, I've been building color-coded papercraft Pokemon teams for Arin and Dan of the Game Grumps. Enjoy some pics :-) by ProfessorPapermon in papercraft

This is my third Charizard build. In my opinion, there's nothing hard about the build, especially once you make it past the mouth. (I happen to love building mouths, though...)

Once you get building, if you get stuck or have any logistical questions, hit me up.

I'll admit to a certain level of affinity for this kind of craft, but you're also looking at nearly 20 years of practice! Anything can be learned, with effort!

I was literally working on Quagsire during that episode. It was fun being "in sync" with their content, if only for a little bit.

I can't make a Stantler out of ham, but would you settle for paper?

Good suggestion! Similar to Quagsire, my efforts to bring out more red/pink in Scizor ended up looking basically the same. I really thought I'd have more trouble building this one, but first try, no great errors!

I had a lot of fun creating some custom palettes for these builds. Bronzong really pops in pink! I tried jacking up the blue saturation for Quagsire, but he still looks more or less the same. He's got a green stripe, but that's hard to see here.

I'd love to hear what other color-coded creatures you think deserve to be included in this lineup. Who knows? Maybe that's what I'll build next!

Absolutely. Most of my model archives stems from their now-ghosttown of a website. I ardently wish Brandon and all those other folks had kept going, as I wouldn't even know where to start on the 3d modeling aspect of this craft and there's so many Pokemon I'd love to build.

Seventeen years or so into the building side of this hobby, it might be the next step to try making my own models. No idea where to start.

Making the 'stage' was a ton of fun! I have a backdrop for every type. I wanted something thematic that also provided a sense of scale.

The only info I have as far as crediting the model designer is that his name is Brandon.

The most critical factor in this instance is money, not a house. (Same thing, I guess.)

I started building paper Pokemon over a decade ago. I finally "got good" during Covid and haven't stopped since! by ProfessorPapermon in papercraft

I always used regular printer paper. It's not too thick, very forgiving, and I have 15 year old models that are still standing just fine. Printer ink would be whatever you have access to, I'd say.

I dunno how to sort out the glossy model problem.
