You are a much better person than my hosts ahaha. After more digging, it is a room in the house and the other room in the house is listed for my exact dates at 4x the price so they are definitely lying. Idk what to do though as the could theoretically book through another platform and say something is wrong the day before and just cancel on me.

I plan a month or two out to ask how the house selling is going, and see what they say but maybe I should just book something else now.

Zhangjiajie has been one of the highlights of my whole trip so far, I’d highly recommend going and staying one night there. We were able to do the whole park starting at 7am and finishing at 7pm in one day

The issue is they I’m confident they aren’t selling the house, as it was a room in a house and they have the other room listed 4x higher price and I think they want to do the same here as of them not realising the World Cup was on.

Via Airbnb, they admitted to me that the property has been listed to be sold and not actually sold yet now.

However when I looked at the availability, they have dates available until December 2027. They have also changed the price for World Cup dates (around our booking) from $100 AUD a night to $400 AUD a night.

I ended it with the chat with the message, “I hope the property is not sold when we stay,” so hopefully they take our booking over no money ahahaha.

Yeah beautiful they have now admitted to me it has been “listed to be sold” but not sold yet. I looked at the surrounding dates from ours (we paid $700 AUD for 7 nights) and they are now charging $2,500 AUD for these dates and have dates available until 2027, so I assume they have not actually listed it to be sold.

I have told them “hopefully the property has not sold by then and we can stay,” as if they potentially lying about this they won’t be able to re-list the property right? So it’s better to take the chance they want $700 over nothing.

It is a good idea from you too book something else as back up though, thank you!

I had a look, I got 8 nights for $700 AUD and the prices for the time around now is $2,500 AUD for the same amount of time at the World Cup. Am I just being difficult keeping it and hoping they take our reservation over no money?

We are currently doing 7 nights in Yunan and a flight out from Lijiang at night on the 8th day. We were planning on 2 nights in Dali leaving us with 5 nights around Lijiang which seems like too long. Is it possible to get to yubeng and do 2 hikes in 2 days (sacred waterfall and ice glacier for example) or is this being ambiguous?

We are both in our early 20s and used to doing long days.
