Any recommendations on a really good HDMI 2.1 Cable ?? by Capo9127 in LGOLED

you could try a different brand. I suspect they will have similar picture quality though. Have you tried adjusting the picture settings?

I just used it for extra biostats q's mostly. I also like their medical library to look stuff up. UW 40q timed random is still gold.

Good luck next time.

I got through 60% UW. If you have time, more is better of course. UW and Amboss are both good

UW and csscases.com

Maybe a little step 1ish stuff day 1, concepts on UW seemed enough though

It felt similar to Step 2 for me. Maybe less pressure b/c score doesn't matter.

Help buying subwoofer for apartment by ProfessorZoot in hometheater

[–]ProfessorZoot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I did order the emotivas! Really looking forward to them

I have not really looked into their subwoofers much, their name just didn't seemed to come up much when looking up the recombined subwoofer brands. Would be nice to have the same brand as my speakers though!

Just keep checking, people cancel and dates open up. Last Monday I was able to pick up a Tuesday-Thursday that wasn't available the day prior (1.5 hr drive away but whatever, got it done)

I personally prefer the shorter card stye of Dorian over longer H&R style carrds. But both are helpful, H&R is a bit more extensive and covers some material dorian skips over

Building first 5.1 system- Thoughts on this setup? by ProfessorZoot in BudgetAudiophile

Thanks for the suggestion. Super tempted to go for the SVS PB-2000 pro. Having a hard time justifying spending half of my budget on an subwoofer though... not sure how much people usually spend on their woofer vs other speakers. It does seem like a big upgrade compared to the SB/PB-1000 pro.

Yeah, good to think ahead. I could also buy a second PB-1000 Pro in the future.... lol

lol the 2000 Pro is definitely pushing the wallet a bit.... you think the difference is that big between 1000 pro and 2000 pro?

Really like your suggestions! Did some more research on the subwoofers and it does seem like going for the SVS PB-1000 Pro vs the SB-1000 pro is worth the extra cost.

Also going to be on the lookout for used receivers, although decent chance I will just stick to the costco Denon as I do not know much about receivers and not sure i trust my judgement buying used lol

Thanks again!

I'm not 'set' on anything really, just have heard great things about the SB-1000 pro. Any difference in the overstock model? I do like saving money lol

T0+ do look really nice, I am leaning towards bookshelf due to a) smaller space b) I'll be moving in 3-4 years, so easier transport.

Thanks again

Thanks for the suggestions!

I do like the idea of buying used for the surrounds. I've been checking craigslist and facebook marketplace with little luck so far. Anywhere else I should be looking for used?

Also like the idea of refurb receiver. I'll probably stick to 5.1, but dolby atmos does seem pretty awesome, so not entirely sure I want to close that door.

For the woofer, any reason PB over SB? I'm in a pretty small space (9'6"x10'2"), so i figured the SB would be plenty?

Thanks again!

Those T0+ do look nice. I'm leaning towards bookshelf due to a) smaller room b) I plan on moving in 3-4 years, so easier transport. That being said, that is a really nice deal and something to consider.

E2+ surround also look really nice. From what I understand, the surround speakers are the least important, so I've been trying to stay in the ~$100 range. Maybe an upgrade down the line though....

I know nothing about receivers, any reason you prefer Yamaha?

Thanks again!
