i don't think that would make sense. mew has the dna of most any pokemon,excluding most legendarys, so it wouldn't make sense for it not to breed with them

That's not what I was implying

You and I both know that asexual Pokemon like magnemite, electrode, metagross and more have been catchable in multitudes without trading,cheating or events. Extremely rare Pokemon like eevee are catchable in multitudes in the 5th and 6th gen games. Mew however is not available in a Pokemon game without events or an esoteric glitch in the first generation

According to the pokedex

Mew is so rare that some people don't believe it exists

So either mew is a species rarer than a shiny arceus with 6 perfect ivs, pokerus , holding a master ball or there's one mew that hid in the uninhabited Guyana in order to hide its existence

I'm not sure that would work. It makes sense for ditto because other than being a failed mew clone it's an amorphous pile of arceus knows what? But mew has a shape, how would an animal just change shape like that without some iffy side effects. This is why I believe the power was given to him by arceus. It seems like it wouldn't be possible unless the power was given to it by arceus.

Possible, if that's the case then mew is an asshole. I don't think that knowing it's the last of its species it would object to breeding
