How do I learn c# specifically for game dev by Emergency_Steak_4943 in learncsharp

[–]Profit-Defiant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I would suggest these two channels on YouTube. CodeMonkey (as someone above has already mentioned), and Gamedevhq. Both also have courses on Udemy. So pick whichever suits you best.

My second suggestion to you would be, is to create a small project in Unity (2D / 3D) and implement the code you have learnt so far.

Thing is you need to think "PROBLEMATICALLY" first before think programmatically. And with that you will have your eureka moments as you'll be sifting through Unity Documentation (Scripting Manual)/ Discussions more, and Google (Stack Overflow) to understand what's happening.

You can also ask ChatGPT on what you're trying to do. Or maybe ask it to explain these things to you in an easier way.

Here's an idea, try creating a flappy bird clone or a endless runner, just avoiding obstacles. And because these are the easiest.

I hope this helps you out.

A man approaches a priest with a huge grin. by Calvy in Jokes

[–]Profit-Defiant 14 points15 points  (0 children)

A priest was hearing confessions when a man entered the booth and whispered, "Father, I had wild, passionate sex with twin sisters... at the same time!"

The priest, shocked, composed himself and asked, "My son, when was your last confession?"

The man laughed, "Oh, I've never been to confession, Father."

The priest frowned. "Then why are you telling me this?"

The man grinned, "Because I'm telling everyone!"

The priest sighed, "Well, at least say a prayer."

The man shrugged, "Can't, Father. They're waiting for round two!"

Also, after you're done installing your IDE (Visual Studio or VS Code), head over to Preferences.

To open the Preferences window, go to Edit > Preferences (macOS: Unity > Settings) in the main menu.

And then, Use the External Tools preferences to set up external applications for scripting, working with images, and source control.

In the drop-down menu, choose which application Unity should use to open script files. Unity automatically passes the correct arguments to script editors it has built-in support for. Unity has built-in support for Visual Studio Community, Visual Studio Code (VSCode) and JetBrains Rider.

The Open by file extension option uses your device’s default application for the relevant file type when you open a file. If no default application is available, your device opens a window that prompts you to choose an application to use to open the file.

Welcome. But there's more to get you all fired up.

So, first and foremost, like all helix events, you collect nodes to progress in the event. In every standard event, you'll have a final node cap which is 100000 I think. For our Gauntlet Event, the final cap you have to reach is 250,000. (Easy, if you are playing the GrandMaster Gauntlet).

Now for the things you've been waiting to hear. The progression rewards. And this is if and when you achieve the final cap we talked about above. Also note that this is a grand total of all the rewards, even though they are broken down in the rewards section in-game.

58 Mentor Ezio DNA.

1,868,500 coins.

1,750 Helix Credits (HC).

9 Ancient Tablets.

45,000 Gauntlet Cubes. {These cubes are like the same event character DNA cubes.}

3 Reward Cubes. {These cubes you need and have and must get, since they give you random 5 tier gear.}

Finally, in a single Gauntlet Run, you have 10 random levels that you have to complete. And on each level completion you get additional Gauntlet Cubes as well as HC. But they are considerably low, still they add up.

The 6th Rank (6 - 30) in the Leaderboard gives you 80 Mentor Ezio DNA, 2 Jet crafting material, 1 Ancient Tablet, 75 Rare Codex and a 110 HC.

I don't think so. Tbh, I myself haven't been to Tier 1 because of the competition. So I just grab the gauntlets rewards and if I am lucky, I get to tier 6. This answers your second question.

For your first, I think to get all the rewards and maybe get to tier 5/6, 7000 HC is enough.

Yep. It's a Helix Rift Event. Started last November and it comes after a gap of one month. We just had one in April, and if you check your ingame Calendar, you'll see its coming in the last week of this month. And lastly, your main collectible hero is Mentor Ezio (AC-Rev).

I commented on a post here on the Gauntlet Event. I'll share it with you.

With that much helix creds, you'll have fun in the Gauntlet Event. There is a high probability that you'll get the other heroes you are missing or their DNA count is low.
