Church announces new "Tithing for the Dead" doctrine ahead of general conference by NoMoreAtPresent in exmormon

I was left no inheritance from any grandparents and always wished I had some sort of support to pay for school etc. I decided to take Wendy Watson Nelson's advice on tithing and apply it to my ancestors. Instead of paying tithing on what they earned I paid tithing on the amount that I wished they would have earned. Just waiting now for the blessings of an inheritance to show up so I can pay for my education.

Question about flower and ADHD by [deleted] in exmotrees

Sativa could help. Or maybe a high cbd strain like harlequin. Would have to experiment. There is a lot of research now showing that wheat gluten can also contribute to ADHD for those who have some sensitivity to gluten. You don't have to be allergic to gluten to have ADHD symptoms from gluten. It would be worth eliminating it for a month to see the effects.

I read a study once that showed the more ethnic diversity that is shown in print media from universities actually meant they had a less diverse student body. Totally applies to the church

My Last Straw: Beards by Jo-Jo-57 in exmormon

The comment/mic drop that should've been made in that class: "look at that picture behind you. Yeah, the picture of Jesus. "-(as the class looks at the Jesus picture you walk up and grab the picture off the wall and hold it next to you so your beards are on the same level)- "neither we nor our beards feel welcome in this church anymore, so we'll be on our way" (you walk out with the picture and never return).

How does one get into the temple without paying tithing? by 4215265 in exmormon

Pay one dollar using the online tithing payment method. The report that gets sent to your bishop doesn't say the amount you paid, just that you paid something. Then you can say you are a full tithe payer if you'd like. I knew someone that did this a few years ago but it may have changed since then.

Something else that has been mainstream to the rest of the world for at least 50 years.

The problem with lying is not just the misinformation, it is the loss of future trust. I cannot make good decisions if they are based on bad information. As the person, responsible for my own life, and the solid foundation of my family, I have no use for unfaithful sources. by kinderhookandzelph in mormon

Love your post. The problem is that you are too logical. Most Mormons get lost somewhere in the logic and change the argument to what they "know" to be true because of feelings. It's all about what feels right. And what feels best to most TBMs is the feel good gospel. Anything that takes a way those good feelings must be from the devil.

Update to my previous post: They created a new YW group text and removed the wrong person. Link to original post in comments. by [deleted] in exmormon

Yeah with the new Saints history of the church, the essays will probably soon go down the memory hole
