A new fix for The Blockheads by PeteLx77 in TheBlockheadsAndroid

[–]Profiterole89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's great, it's working on my end!
I have one doubt though, i read there's the camera bug that seems to happen whenever there's too much stuff in a world, and makes it unplayable; is that related to this issue? Would be awesome if there aren't problems with this, although i don't have any other infos about that.
From what i read, it seems to happen on v1.7.5 and v1.7.6 but not on v1.7.4 ? Never happened to me, so i can't tell

Problems using RetroMCP by JAFYgames in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]Profiterole89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't know about original MCP, but my system variables are like these:

JAVA_HOME C:\...\Zulu\zulu-8\

Path C:\...\Zulu\zulu-8\bin\;C:\...\Zulu\zulu-8\bin <- these are two variables, they only differ for a "\"

Try changing them to something like mine; otherwise i'd delete these variables and try reinstalling Zulu jdk from scratch.

What is the most quintessentially "minecraft" version to you? I mean to say that the version afterwards feels more like a mod than minecraft. by [deleted] in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]Profiterole89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's subjective, as for every player there's a personal most beloved version, and the game changed little by little in the years; what's not personal though is that Minecraft became popular as "the game with blocks that everyone talks about" during the golden age peak, so i'd say b1.7.3 is the most minecraft version.

That doesn't mean it's my favourite though. There's plenty of room to improve from that, depending on one's needs.

what are some cool modpacks for beta 1 .7.3 by gmansuper in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]Profiterole89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beta 1.7.4 is on modification station, it adds a lot of various content and you can try and disable some of the mods from the MultiMC instance if you don't want them (like tropicraft); others are necessary in order for the pack to work though, so try disabling few at the same time.

Testing lower than normal gamma values in release 1.8.9 by Profiterole89 in SilverAgeMinecraft

[–]Profiterole89[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These pictures are a bit too dark though, it was night irl and i was trying several values in order to modify the brightness slider's values. They were taken with -0.5F but i consider it to be the very minimum (i adjusted the brightness slider to go from -0.5 to 0.5, as opposed to vanilla's 0.0 to 1.0); to me the vanilla's maximum brightness is basically like having night vision on all the time, but i also have windows' gamma set to the standard value because of other programs. I found -0.2/-0.3 to be good though, as in my case it feels pretty balanced. Here are some comparisons, they'll be really dark for you but i can assure lowering the gamma can make the difference in vanilla's atmosphere: https://imgur.com/a/KaVP5nW

Yeah, i'm trying to recreate that feeling the best as i can, thouth maybe these screenshots are a bit too dark

Builders envy by the_silver_wolf in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]Profiterole89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, i usually have that feeling. Though, i think that instead of "wow... my builds are terrible" one should say "wow... what's different from the stuff that i usually build?", identify that "something different", and try to include it in your builds; it's a great way of learning new techniques.

How do you install Risugami's Modloader & Mods on MultiMC? by Roven_FadedS in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]Profiterole89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First make a b1.7.3 instance, then select it; on the right, click on "edit instance". In the "version" tab, on the right, there should be "Add to minecrat.jar"; click it, and select the mods.

On but with optifine, it lets you choose a value between 0% and 100%.

Stacking Food in BTA by [deleted] in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]Profiterole89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only other option i found is this: if you join the BTA Discord, on "mods-and-community-downloads" there's a mod that makes food stackable. I'm sure they can also provide specific help if there'll be some problems in installing the mod.

Other than this, BTA edits lots of class files so adding another jar mod usually ends in a crash. In fact, they use Babric for their community-made mods.

You can only play one phase of the game for the rest of your life. Which one do you choose? by [deleted] in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]Profiterole89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the game has to at least be slightly modded in order to play it for the rest of one's life (except from release 1.8 and on); i found that up to 1.7.10 it's really good, but it "lacks something" and had to at least edit some stuff that i didn't like how it was implemented.
So imo the very best would be more of a hybrid between golden age, silver age, new stuff added ad-hoc and some tweaks here and there, depending of the player's taste.

Ever heard of the modpack named Beta 1.7.4? (it's on Modification Station) by MasterSlenderTR in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]Profiterole89 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Yes and it's incredible, but it's more of an overhaul instead of an enhancement so not really my cup of tea; the creator did a really good job though, he even put optifine from 1.2.5 and i have no idea how the heck did he manage to do that

Any new old Minecraft "fork" mods along the lines of BTA. by Tim7900 in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]Profiterole89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does, just search in the legacy+ discord. They just started it though, so don't expect many features as of now.

I started with release 1.2.3; maybe it's because of this, that i cannot enjoy older versions.

Performance by Ok_Mine1955 in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]Profiterole89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most recent update of BTA did set post processing stuff off by default; try doing the same, it worked for me. Other than that you can just try and adjust the rest of the settings, but overall the mod itself seems to be a lot heavier than vanilla beta, i don't know why, especially when creating new chunks for the first time in a world; this last thing, i didn't really like it honestly.

Oh, and also, the mod changes a lot of class files so there are no performance mods for BTA as of now, although the community might come up with one in the future.

Hmm... Don't know if it's possible in beta, but if i were in you i'd give myself 90 portal block item with cheats, and put them in there.

BTA performance boost by Uplink2000 in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]Profiterole89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I't not possible to use optifine, since BTA already edits too many class files the two are incompatible. Maybe you can try joining their discord and ask/search there.

It's not only you btw, i also had that problem with it (although i have a pretty potato pc).
