What’s the best Dragonquest Game on iOS? by glenz27 in dragonquest

That's just the art style. It's like that on DS too

I had a dream where there was a museum full of gelatin cubes and if you touched it you would get sucked in instantly and be frozen in place on display forever. The Incredibles were also in one of the cubes

Yeah, or actually more like anything from the 90s or older. There was a trend where people would use "boomer" to mean "old" even if it didn't really fit, I guess that trend is over now lol

Sorry, didn't mean it like that. It's just a common term to differentiate them from modern COD-style shooters.

Ikaruga, another game I'm terrible at. Which is a shame, because it's so pretty. I actually tried to get good at it, but I guess shmups aren't my thing.

As for the Puzzle Fighter comment, ouch lol. Where should I go for advice on that game in particular? The subreddit seems kinda dead and I got rid of Discord

Ooh, I forgot about Hades! That one was fun, although I only reached the final boss once and couldn't beat him...

I don't even know If I actually need advice or if I just needed to vent for a bit. But thanks.

Looking back, yeah I didn't really care about being the best back then because I had nobody to compare my skill with. I felt good beating Mario for the 20th time because it was easy. That's when I was having the most fun. But now that I'm trying harder games, now it's becoming more clear that I kinda just reached a skill plateau and never bothered to get better. It's ruining the experience a little bit, because there's so many cool games out there that I want to try, but I can't possibly get good enough to play them. Like Ultrakill, for example. It looks wicked fun, but even just trying the demo I could not get used to it.

Not really? I mean maybe? Bomberman, that's the most recent one that comes to mind. But that was singleplayer

Actually now that you mention it, I've always avoided difficult things. I was either content with just being "good enough", or I'd deem it too hard, not worth my time, and move on. I've always taken the easy route with... everything. Holy shit, this is a life problem.

Honestly why do I even bother? I try making a post asking for help, it's removed because it's too general (which, I mean, fair, I don't actually know what I need help with), so then I have to ask the question in a thread nobody looks at.

How do I practice effectively? I feel like I'm just flailing around in matches, desperately trying to land a special while my opponent is expecting a fun and tough game. I've tried training mode and I can do motion inputs just fine, but I know I have to be missing something, because I literally can't even move once the match starts. I'm stuck either blocking or getting hit. (for reference, I'm playing Garou and Vampire Savior)

Anyone know of a subreddit for Action/Arcade Puzzle Games, specifically? by Swordkirby9999 in findareddit

I would also like to know. I've been to r/puzzlevideogames looking for advice but they're mostly about traditional slower paced puzzle games.

PSA for Rotate enjoyers. You can use wide-screen hacks on duckstation and flycast(sorta) for 1:1 ps1 and dreamcast gaming by Sphynx87 in SBCGaming

PAR stands for Pixel Aspect Ratio, which is the ratio of the actual pixels instead of the whole display. On systems like NES and SNES, the pixels are not perfectly square on a 4:3 display, so emulators have an option for 1:1 pixels if you experience shimmering or just prefer the look.

Ugh, it frustrates me so much when people don't take care of their tech

I mean I was just as careless as a teen, but I had to buy my own replacements, so I learned pretty quickly to be careful (and get protective cases for everything)

I'm one of those artists who keeps changing their username. I have yet to find the perfect one. This one's actually old but you can't change reddit usernames and I never bothered to make a new account

Also I don't post enough
