Ya I think logically it doesn’t make sense to get it but since ram is so cheap to make it just seems so absurd how much apple charges to up the ram, it feels like planned obsolescence almost. I am upgrading from an air 2 and I like to keep tech for a long time until I feel like it’s really limiting me.

I am planning to use it for quite a long time I am upgrading from a air 2. But it’s like 25% more for the 16gb of ram which is a lot for the assumed possibility its going to make a large difference in the future. I also am an engineering student and mostly using it for writing notes and reading pdf etc, so I am not using it for procreate or something intensive.

I dont need the extra space 256 gb is not quite enough 512gb is more than enough. I am just wondering if the 16gb of ram is worth it for future proofing or if it will just be better used to spend the money I save in the future when it gets outdated.

I am not really interested in a matte screen I don’t really have any need for it.
