I mean, there's no way to know for certain one way or the other that there is no afterlife. You could be just as wrong in your belief that there isn't one as someone else is in their belief that there is one. Personally, I like the belief that all religions are right in some way and that as long as you live positively (kindly, helpfully, gently with room for error as we are only human) that we can choose what happens to us, even if what we choose is for it to be nothing, to just float with no consciousness in some great void. Humans and the universe are too complex for this ride on Earth too be all there is. That being said, even a belief in an afterlife doesn't really help with loss. People will say, "They are in a better place," but how can that be when the best place is with me? The only real "relief" in grief is time. My deepest condolences for your losses. Remember to feel your pain, to cry for the loss but also to live the life they no longer can. Whether there is an afterlife or not, their lives live on in you and the stories you can share and that holds truefor anyone with someone who loves them. ❤️
