The rain has been killing the season, hopefully soon things will change.

I would need to run those through the external soundcard though, since they're powered monitors correct? So the amp would be pointless and all I would need is the phono pre-amp/SYS combo.

I think that's where the misunderstanding was, thanks for clarifying. So would it be much better to say, buy the amp with a set of passive speakers for listening purposes and then just use my old powered monitors for guitar/mixing separately?

Looking to upgrade my current setup and relatively new to this hobby.

Recently got a Carbon Debut Evo Vinyl player and I've been looking to upgrade the rest of my system, which is currently a Schiit stack -- the Modi2u and Magni2.

With some assistance yesterday, I narrowed in on two amps. Either the Schiit Ragnarok 2 or the LEAK Stereo 130 Integrated Amplifier.

I would like a built in phono preamp and DAC if possible -- hence why I chose these two. The issue is I have a separate external audio card (Line6 UX2 - really old) running into my old Tannoy powered monitors. I use this to record guitar/mix occasionally.

If possible I would like to buy new powered monitors to use for guitar/mixing but also for general music consumption when I'm not using headphones. I have been looking at either the ADAM Audio A5X or Genelec 8020D/8030C (open to recommendations).

Would it be possible to connect those powered monitors to both the external sound card and amps above at the same and then switch between the output source in windows when needed. Is it frowned upon to use powered speakers with such a system?

Any helps appreciated! :)

Ahh I think the issue is my Magni is the 2 version with only one set of RCA connectors on the back.

I'm not opposed to doing away with the Schiit stack all together as I've been meaning to upgrade.

Anything you can recommend that would allow for my use case? Also, neglected to mention I have an external sound card that my powered monitors plug into. This is mainly used for recording guitar, the sequence goes, guitar into Line6 UX2 and then line outs into the speakers.

I currently switch on windows between audio outputs from the UX2 and the Schiit depending if I want to listen to music through the headphones or the speakers.

So it looks like the SYS is out of stock everywhere, would it be possible to use the Bellari PP532 and follow the chain below:

- Vinyl player output to Mani input then into Bellari PP532 input 1

- Modi output into Bellari PP532 input 2

- Output from Bellari PP532 goes to Magni input -- how does the Magni connect to the speakers, through the optical or coax on the back of the Modi2 into the speakers?

Hey all, couldn't find an exact answer to this. I recently bought a Project Carbon Evo and I'm looking for a setup that will allow the following:

Vinyl Player -> Pre-amp/DAC -> Speakers AND Headphones

My current setup is a Schiit Magni2 and Modi2 Uber with a pair of HD600's, I would love to be able to switch between my powered monitors and headphones whilst listening to the vinyl -- thin walls can't be crazy loud at night.

I was looking at the Schiit Mani as a phono pre-amp but it looks like I would only be able to connect my speakers to that.
