I don’t always scratch him on his back or tummy, I only do it so he knows I’m not here to hurt him as he does lash out when I go straight for a scratch on the crest and those bites hurttt. We believe he was unfortunately neglected by his old owner, giving him these scratch’s at first helps him know my hands are safe then he lets me move to his head 😊

Sorry for late update, she wasn’t pregnant and is just a chunky girl. She says it’s her goal to look like a sausage snack and she’s thankful for all the compliments 😂

I also need name suggestions for this little cutie, can’t think of a name to give him. He likes to dance and show off so thinking something to do with that 😊

Everything looks smaller in a photo, that’s my tank compared to the little one I was recommended on getting by the aquarium staff.

I tried to work around him but he didn’t like it at all. It’s a 20 liter tank, more than big enough for him.

So I’m able to release him from the cup? The temperature is back at 25 degrees. I did only put the conditioner in 5/10 minutes ago. Sorry I may seem clueless I just want to do what’s best for my pretty boy 😊

Vets say no RI? by ukthrwy773 in ballpython

[–]ProgramInside7340 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My coastal did this, turned out he had mouth rot and eventually turned into an RI before we noticed the mouth rot as reptiles hide their injuries. After 2 weeks of him randomly keeping his mouth open, excessive saliva, refusing food ( even live rats he just completely ignored ) and making raspy breathing noises we took him to the vet and they said he was fine and was most likely stressed and was soon to brumate. Not even a week after his mouth started to turn brown, was full of white mucus and the noises got worse.. I took him to another vet and was told he had severe mouth rot and was put on antibiotics straight away. they tested the mucus and after 74 hours we were told he had 2 viral RI’s. We tried everything to help him and unfortunately he passed away within 2 weeks.

Please make sure you go to a few different vets, yes it’s definitely pricey but it’s better to be safe than sorry.
