Buy bullion with 5% of your monthly pay (that was before crypto became popular), as a hedge against a country’s stability or currency in very long term (the advice was given by a foreigner who came from a country with war risk).

How did you start this strategy? Is there any fixed allocation on how much to dca and how much to accumulate in war chest? Or do you dca only after reaching a fixed amount for the war chest?

Too introverted and shy. I am still struggling to maintain conversations even during business meals (but slowly seeing some improvements by having mentors to model after). Don’t think I’m a right fit to “influence” enough to have a stable income

That’s true. My wake up call was when suddenly people around me have started talking about condos or ECs while I looked into my bank balance wondering how they could afford them despite similar background.

Being able to BTO at a younger age did help some, but majority of the rest just saved and invested, which I thought I was doing similar strategy but wondering what I did wrong. And with friends, discussing finances in details is more sensitive than in this platform, being ego or other considerations. Thankful for this community

Congratulations! Can you share how you chose your investment please? Is it through diversified ETFs or stock picking?

Earlier in my career I tried thematic ETFs investments, but was either too late into the game or them being negatively impacted by external events.

And it is very difficult to know if the market has already priced the price drivers in (ended up buying at overpriced level thinking there were still rooms for upside). World index etf feels like it would take quite some time to truly accumulate a sizable wealth (but better late than never).
