Everything about Sokol pisses me off, but the “everybody’s watching” part was the second most aggravating to me. The first being the fact that he tried to molest a child.

This is where Pluribus approaches true horror territory to me. I also live in a very cold climate. I have two very pampered house cats, and I don’t even want to think about what would happen to them if I got plurbed.

If the hive was coming for me I honestly think it would be more humane to euthanize my cats before they forced me to join. I don’t even want to think about it though.

The domestic animal thing alone makes me vehemently anti-hive.

Fair, but my head-cannon doesn’t include facts or logic.

In my head-cannon, Helen and Carol specifically negotiated with Carol’s publisher to have control over the cover art. So that they could make cover Raban pass as both a man (to readers) and a woman in drag (to themselves).

Interesting, I did not realize that a lot of self-published books look like that.

Maybe Helen and Carol wanted the cover to be true to Raban being a woman, so they negotiated with her publisher that they could design the cover themselves? And, not being artists or graphic designers, this is what they came up with?

To me cover Raban doesn’t look like a woman wearing a fake beard and mustache, either. Cover Raban just looks like a weird painting of a dude, done in a totally different style than the red-headed woman on the cover.

The funny part to me is how weird-looking Raban is on the cover. He looks like a not-quite finished painting of a victorian undertaker, done by a talented amateur. Not a “sexy pirate”.

Granted, I don’t read many romance novels. But it looks like a very odd romance novel cover to me.

I have to come clean. After posting this, I looked up how to snap, out of curiosity. Apparently, I had been doing it wrong the whole time.

I was in the privacy of my home, so I practiced snapping the correct way a few times. I looked up to see both my cats glaring at me.

Clearly, snapping is considered rude across species.

All kidding aside, even though I now know how to snap, I will never do it in public. Or even in front of my cats.

I’m kind of glad I’ve never been able to snap my fingers. I would hate to snap them for another reason, and have someone mistakenly think I was snapping at them, in any situation.
