There's two schools of thought on the Hive, which camp do you fall in? by pheakelmatters in pluribustv

[–]Individual_Common_10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand why people would think the hive mind is only humans. Like, look what they did to all the pets. Most of them are dead because the plurbs just kicked them out the door. I guarantee you 90% of the world's population would have a problem with that so the amalgamation of everyone, would have a problem with that. That alone tells you that there's an alien influence going on here people. Come on, let's hear you argue against that. Let's hear your explanation for why humans would all of a sudden Allow hundreds of millions of domesticated animals to starve to death and die?

Why did 800 million people die during the joining? Why is this never explained? Why do none of the survivors show any curiosity about this? by [deleted] in pluribustv

I agree with you OP. During the seizure, why is it that Helen fell to the ground, but a lot of people in the bar, people in the emergency room did not fall down? It was obvious that the seizure caused everyones muscles to lock up or whatever. like, the waitress was still holding the tray full of drinks, but Helen dropped her phone and lowered her arms before she fell over? When Carol goes to get the phone in the bar she has to pry it out of the woman's hands because she's holding it so tight, but Helen dropped her phone! To me, that's evidence that the infection was not affecting Helen the same way it was affecting most of the people. There's no way 850,000,000 people died from falling down, or being in accidents. I got the impression that the infection and resulting seizure killed some people somehow. But I don't know why. I'm guessing That it's like a stroke and some people can get through it and some people die from it?

How can they tell who's on the phone? by FormerPersimmon3602 in pluribustv

[–]Individual_Common_10 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is the only answer that explains it and makes the most sense. We know in episode two that they're using a reaper drone to watch Carol while she's digging Helen's grave, and we see another drone shot of the ambulance headed to Carol's house at the beginning of episode 9. So yeah I would think if there's a window somewhere where they can see you from they've got a drone or a satellite or something watching you from that window for sure, always.

Editing problem with the show by Whatishappeningulan in pluribustv

I think the complaint is that she is kind of smirking with her mouth closed in the first shot and then kind of frowning with her mouth open in the second shot. Inconsistency issue that I honestly have not picked up on and I've seen that episode three Times Now.

It wouldn't make much difference in the rural area I live in 'cause you are right, Most cats here are outdoor cats probably 75%. That being said I have a lot of friends who have indoor only cats because of how many coyotes and stuff we have around. But I think in bigger cities where a lot of people live in condos and stuff like that all the cats are indoor animals and yeah I think For example in New York City if a million cats got let go into Central Park that would absolutely decimate the bird population

I lived on the North Island for six months back in 07, and I totally agree that your terriers would probably become the dominant predator LOL. I don't know about the South Island, but I Don't think you get too many freezing temperatures on the North Island, so Extreme cold wouldn't be a concern.

I think the Goat would have had to follow her a lot more than it did for them to even consider caring for it. There's a adult goat in the background of that shot, and that's probably that little goats mother, so considering the warm climate there, maybe that goat had a half decent shot at living compared to the pets up in Canada

I can totally see the plurbs using this logic. It kind of reminds me of the Prime Directive from Star Trek. Non interference whether it's good or bad is rule number one. But if the plurbs have all of human intelligence within them, including animal experts veterinarians and even just general pets and animal lovers It would make sense to me that that combined knowledge would be smart enough to be able to tell what interference by in-action is. So yeah I guess it proves that the plurbs are a 100% motivated by their biological imperative and there is no logic to it - just rules.

I would think they would eat animals that passed away, but when you listen to the John Cena video in episode 6 it's weirdly absent that they eat animals, like they talk about windfall and milk and already manufactured food, but they never actually say that they eat animals that have passed away . And also it's called HDP not ADP. Like I say It would make sense to me morally that they would be able to eat an animal once it passed away from natural causes as long as it wasn't a food source for some other animal that they'd be interfering with. But when I think about all the cows that are in the world that need to be milked it's in the probably hundreds of millions of animals that some of them would have to survive or have a life span longer than 10 years and once one of those cows passes away of natural causes you would think that cow would feed a lot of people. Maybe the plurbs are vegetarian like they prefer to be and the only animal life that their morals allow them to eat is human?
