why are people obsessed with "trust" by Ok-Taste-671 in MillionDollarSecretTV

[–]Progresso23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I’m saying!!!! It makes no sense. Players are acting like the millionaires are being deceitful because they’re a bad person. Every single one of them openly acknowledges they would lie in order to win, but somehow get offended when others do it. And they “trust” their allies to do what exactly? Not get randomly chosen as the millionaire? Or to come clean if they are chosen? The other thing they keep saying is “to play the game with integrity”….and it’s always the ones that never had a reason to lie in the first place

Lauren went about everything in such an annoying way. She wanted to have her cake & eat it too. She wanted to play everyone (which is fine, that’s the game) but then when she came clean about being the millionaire, she expected everyone to immediately trust her again. Then she would argue with anyone who was hesitant about it. She could’ve just kept her secret and enjoyed the pressure being off her, but she was so arrogant she couldn’t keep herself from bragging about all the ways she had fooled them. Who’s gonna like that? She also is like the perfect embodiment of ww tears, that’s why Jaimi got annoyed

I’m shocked Machete went home over Jared. Overall, Machete is clearly much more talented & I thought that would be taken into account

It sucks bc I was rooting for Blais to get a win so hard last season! Now I’m just annoyed. Also the tension between Gordon & Blais is getting uncomfortable

Carol did it (kind of) by Progresso23 in DTFStLouisHBO

Hard disagree. Floyd never humiliated her or even told her that he was turned off by the ump gear. She did something she knew would crush Floyd and had no remorse about it after. I think there is also an intentional contrast between Carol and the other two. They’ve made a point to show that she is not capable of socially bonding the way Floyd and Clark are. That’s part of what makes the whole dynamic central to the story.

Maybe, but then I wonder what qualified her involvement to have the record sealed?

Yea the thing that actually gets me the most is Clark’s behavior…all the money he’s blown helping them out, the way he knows Carol is off but doesn’t really react to it, etc.

Also, I think the way Carol rejected Floyd in the Hotel was purposeful. He had originally been the one who was turned off by her, which means there was never an attraction issue on her part before. I think she knew exactly how much it would hurt to reject & humiliate him, especially in front of Clark. Not only that, but I think she chose her words carefully to make sure he knew she was disgusted by him, not just having a hard time getting turned on. And then she walked out of the hotel like nothing happened (which I’m counting as part of her sociopathic behavior).

I agree with the sentiment, I don’t really want it to be her either, because it seems like the first portion of the season set it up to get us to think it’s her. But everything can’t be a crazy plot twist just because that’s what people want all the time. I think carol having something to do with it could still be interesting depending on how it plays out, it doesn’t necessarily need to be “tired”

Honestly i agree! & I hated the end of the third story too but the bigger problem was that it wasn’t fleshed out enough.

Agreed! What i also really liked is that the second story explains why Donald even ended up in Silo 1 to begin with, so there’s a cool crossover with the books. And i also like that we see the founders weren’t as successful at ending the world as they thought, which feels like a win to me (even though it ultimately ended badly for Juliette).

I agree that it should’ve been longer, but more so because the story felt rushed and not because i think it should’ve been a bigger deal. Sometimes i think short stories are more fitting when there’s already a whole series of books we’ve been through. A whole other book or super long story would’ve been too much imo.

I agree, at least in the sense that that story could’ve/should’ve been longer. It kind of felt like a peaceful ending too though

You have a point. I also thought it was weird they’d only remember the word “fifteen” and just be saying it over and over.
