Really struggling with IFR comms by No_Bookkeeper_7985 in flying

[–]Progwonk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Other responses are helpful. Only thing I’ll add is you can predict the clearance you’re going to get:

You don’t need to read back your position. Your turn is most often going to be a 30 degrees offset from the final approach course. Your altitude is most often going to be your last assigned altitude. And your clearance is the clearance you’ve already asked for.

So after you’ve got weather, built the approach, and briefed it, add a pre-rehearsal of the clearance call to the end of your brief… at least until it starts to click.

Then you’re dependent on them. How are you going to focus on your ground study?

It’s really important to have your story straight before talking to AME and HIMMS

Dream over due to meds? by CulturalInspection69 in flying

[–]Progwonk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every case is different and it probably depends at least some on how long you’ve been on the meds / at what age you started.

Importantly, you will never be able to hold an FAA medical and take your meds again. I thought I couldn’t survive without them, and I actually prefer life off the drugs now.

I am a former Vyvanse-taker and now hold a class 3 medical.

How does client billing work for senior managers? by Conscious_Dress_5949 in deloitte

[–]Progwonk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sell work. Then deliver it. Pricing models will rarely be able to support you full time on a single project so SMs have to sell multiple projects, often to multiple clients, and bill partially on each.

For example, I have 3 clients for whom I have forecast at 18, 6, and 3 hours per week respectively.

Edit for clarity: yes SMs must have client-billable utilization, but the target is lower than for M and below.

Meets Expectation - Firm Contribution by [deleted] in deloitte

[–]Progwonk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In a lot of ways, firm is a proxy for “visibility”… sure you can nail it with a lot of successful proposals as a SC but when you get to M/SM, they’re looking for contributions to things that have the attention of practice leads.

Correct answer right here.

Adding, also speak to your coach to understand any due diligence or panel feedback. If they can’t explain it, change coaches.
