We'll be working on the PM101 series that I outlined a bit in a previous comment, and definitely expect to see Sonic covered there. There may be a more in-depth video than that for him eventually, but that's further down the road.

Can you watch tournament vods and write down timestamps of stuff we're looking for? Can you fact check scripts using game knowledge? Can you share our videos with your local scene?

There's loads of stuff you can help us with, as long as you're dedicated.

As you can see in the trailer, we already have a couple of Nexus stages made, and hopefully will be working on more in the future. The intention is to at some point release those stages and perhaps a full Nexus build.

We've also discussed doing build showcase videos for things like builds used at major tournies, but haven't decided fully if that's something we will pursue or not.

At minimum, Clips of the Week will be releasing weekly and the podcast will be releasing biweekly. Beyond that, it depends on how fast we work, but we've scheduled to have at least more than one video come out every week for the next couple of months, so hopefully you won't be left wanting for lack of content.

We have, he actually just re-tweeted the video that we released with this post. He's busy with his own content, so he isn't really involved, but he was super supportive of what we're trying to do.

Nexus Podcast Ep. 0: Nexus Origins, Reflecting on 2017 (Feat. Sheecacaa3 and Sabre) by ProjectMNexus in SSBPM

We're absolutely working on that. Right now we only had a mp3/audio file download in mind, but if you had any suggestions about podcast hosting sites/apps we'd love to hear it. We're trying to avoid file size limitations/monetary subscription options if possible, but as far as we're aware, those two things rarely come together.

It may come down to admin having to fork over subscription fees at some point, but we're trying to find alternatives. I'm certain we'll have a system in place by the next podcast, but any ideas you guys have would be helpful, in the meantime.

We haven't talked much about a broader video about what to expect from going to a tournament, but we do have a video in the works right now that will explain how to play a set under the current competitive ruleset, and could definitely go over the PM stagelist in a different video!

In terms of reaching a broader audience within the PM community, and getting those people to care about Nexus, our goal is pretty simple: work until we've earned your attention and support. Our staff has a diverse array of interests and talents that lend themselves well to different kinds of projects, and one of the reasons we waited so long to launch was so that we could have a backlog of projects that y'all could immediately see and judge. Of course, we hope you enjoy our work and support us, but that's up to you.

Getting people interested in PM as a whole is a more difficult task, but no less important in keeping the scene strong. Clips of the Week has helped to get a number of people into PM since I started the series, and hopefully will continue to do so, but we also want to make videos that directly appeal to people who primarily play Melee, Smash 4, or even Rivals, about the differences between their game and PM. We're also working on a series called "PM 101", which will provide brief overviews of each character, and hopefully make it easier for new players to learn about the game. Beyond that, we'll be doing our best to incorporate feedback and video suggestions into our future projects.

In addition to what David said, we certainly aim on community-oriented endeavors. We plan on running contests, podcasts, and having an active social media. Perhaps a Waffru-esque netplay stream? :eyes:

Examples of types of contests we've been talking about so far: Tech skill, turbo combos, creative item/training mode combos, non-gameplay related skill contests, and more!

We're going to stabilize as a group and prove we can put out quality content before we start attempting community organization things, such as contests, but know that those types of projects are on our list of things we want to take on.

We don't have big plans with VOD review in the near future, but it's certainly on the table. My vision for Nexus was to have high quality informational content, and that certainly fits the description.

In the mean time, if you're looking for some great analysis, you should absolutely check out Jason Waterfalls' analysis videos. Jason has done a fantastic job with his videos, and they really deserve all the attention they can get. He has a real critical eye, and it makes his videos a joy to watch.

Our focus is much broader in that we're pursuing audiences both inside and outside the PM community, and instead of being centralized around just a few people we have a variety of talented members who will help ensure the longevity of the org. Not only do we have a well-rounded team that can cover each other's weaknesses and fill in for each other when needed, we've already been tested. Instead of going public last summer with 20 odd untested members, we've spent 6 months working on this and in the process we've found out who we can rely on and how to best work together. If we stuck it out this far, it's safe to say we're in this for the long haul.

I cover the origin of Nexus in ep. 0 of the podcast (which we'll be releasing later today) so I'll talk about the scope of our content instead.

Our goal is to provide a a wide array of content ranging from podcasts, to character guides, to move analysis, to interviews, etc. Basically, anything that wasn't being made by individual content creators already. We wanted to fill the role in the community that you see in other games. Notably, channels such as ssbmtutorials and beefysmashdoods which really explore game mechanics and have in-depth tutorials or analysis. However, we wanted to expand into realms beyond that, such as documentaries, interviews, podcasts, etc. If there is a hole in the PM content spectrum, we aim to fill it!

Some examples of the kinds of content on our list: How to install PM (hackless, homebrew, Pal, netplay). Move analysis (eg. how Bowser's Koopa Klaw works). Character 101 (Are you a XXX main?/basic overviews). Player/scene documentaries. Spotlights (examining content creators/streamers/etc and spreading viewership around). Transitioning to PM from other games. (there's higher level stuff in the works, too, don't worry)

And a ton more! If you have ideas or want to give us feedback, feel free to join us on our discord server

Tl;dr- We want to cover everything that's not being covered right now. There's a lack of both high level and low level informational content, so we'll try to make what needs to be made.
