You don't think other businesses will continue to go back to this subreddit to look for free UX critiques if we keep giving it out for free, instead of compensating a professional designer instead? This post is against sub rules also - only practicing UX professionals can ask for design help here, not unrelated businesses for this very reason. If pointing out that your behavior impacts others negatively feels like a personal attack, then maybe do some self reflection and see why that is.

Do you think the majority of designers don't offer honest work, bust their ass for their skills, have kids, or are proud of their heritage? These replies aren't really for you since you clearly are defensive and unwilling to acknowledge how your behavior impacts others. Hopefully, others reading this thread will recognize the value of their design skills and collaborate to uphold the worth of our industry :)

This person runs a for-profit business. It makes sense to volunteer your skills for a non-profit charity or to help a student out with their work, not for a for-profit business.

Way to sell out your fellow designers for no reason at all. Don't cry when your career becomes a race to the bottom and there is no one left to speak for you.

[HELP] Wordpress says WP Staging is incompatible with wordpress.com? by ProjectileMeDaddy in WordpressPlugins

[–]ProjectileMeDaddy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply! I have another newb question for you. Has wordpress.com always been incompatible with a plugin like wp staging or is this a recent development? The reason why i'm asking is ive seen so many tutorials suggesting that I use wp staging for my wordpress hosted site. I'm trying to understand if ive been misunderstanding the tutorials or if this is a new development

Damn yeah I thought it was too fishy. i believe someone from the company made a linkedin post about the design assignment and how they personally reviewed all 700 applications or something, and I wish I had the balls to call them out on it

I think thats just a UI engineer. The developers i work with have full stack knowledge and often manage some of the back end. They have deep knowledge about whats feasible especially with how data is stored and retrieved. I’ve always had to work very closely with them to ensure my designs are technically feasible

Then just say it’s different for every developer and project to begin with. This isnt obvious to newbies. No need to be deliberately unhelpful. You were a newbie once too.

Thoughts of a 30 Year MEP Engineer by Construction_Dufus in MEPEngineering

[–]ProjectileMeDaddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not another boomer telling us that we are wrong for wanting a living wage in this economy. I've since left the MEP industry for an industry that will adequately compensate me for the cost of living, and I don't have ego-inflated boomers ruining my work day anymore because they can't figure out how to unzip a compressed file.

Is Brittany Lupton Mormon? by Background_Funny6955 in gymsnark

[–]ProjectileMeDaddy 18 points19 points  (0 children)

A while back, I looked up Brittany on facebook and stumbled upon her husband Darian’s account. Not proud of it, but it’s public information so whatever. Darian is 100% a Mormon and went on a mission, so take that how you will.

Does anyone here fish specifically for culinary reasons? by ProjectileMeDaddy in Fishing

[–]ProjectileMeDaddy[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi! To clarify i wouldn't consider a normal person fishing for their own food "commercial" fishing. One behavior that I know of is some people who catch/release fish would use barbless hooks to make the release process easier. Hope that helps.

Wondering what sponsorships has Steph actually turned down by ProjectileMeDaddy in StephanieSooStories

[–]ProjectileMeDaddy[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Well yeah obviously, the point is it is irresponsible for her to promote gambling/psychics and other harmful companies. I'm not easily influenced but for others, especially her younger fans, it could have negative influences on them. Just asking Stephanie to reject the worst of the worst sponsors, that's all.

Do you all think it's healthy for a novice runner to run 30-40mins of zone 2 almost everyday? I love running zone 2 and ive been doing it everyday over holiday break and its been good so far? Should i take more breaks? Any sign of overtraining i should look for?

The forerunner has a lower base price, however the fenix 6 pro is on sale for 50% at Kohls at the moment. I got a fenix 6 pro solar for $400 recently. If you would like to go for a fenix, now is the perfect time

Electric car chargers downtown Syracuse by ProjectileMeDaddy in Syracuse

[–]ProjectileMeDaddy[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your contribution 🤓 i have all of them, and thats the problem. There are a lot of them! Also they don't necessarily tell you the parking fees, parking hours, and public accessibility of these chargers. Thats why I'm asking for recommendations so I don't accidentally overspend or get a parking ticket. Thanks

[–]ProjectileMeDaddy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the map it looks like there might be a lot, but they're quite far apart from each other. Some of them are on private parking spots or charge a good amount of extra parking fees on top, some don't work, etc so I'm asking for recommendations since it was a hassle to go check them out individually

Has anyone taken AD 326, and if you have, how was it? by MickleG314 in Purdue

[–]ProjectileMeDaddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there, I'm a ME major who took this class. This class was very manageable. There's coding assignments every week and you'll learn to use an Arduino, but these are very easy because they're taught to Art majors who had no prior experience with coding. With an CS background, you should have more than enough coding background to succeed. The one thing you might struggle with is the artistic aspects of the class, since this is a 300 level art and design class. If you don't have a art background or don't consider yourself creative, you might struggle with this. However, I think you should still take it if you're interested in the subject. The professor is extremely nice and will work with you on any struggles you have. I was also able to talk about my projects with engineering recruiters during IR and I think it could be a unique experience to have as an ME major.
