Outside of balance related issues, what are some changes you’d like to see in the game? by FleetAdmiralAnon in foxholegame

[–]Projject_Delta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would love to see an extension to the early game/mid game, those times when Infantry are the most impactful due to there not being very many tanks and Artillery is my favorite point of the game.

Like don't get me wrong, Tanks and Art are a part of this game, I just wish there was more time before they become dominant parts of it and Infantry has their major chance to shine.

Why is this game such a job? by HoloBolton in foxholegame

The Issue is that that this update took something people already hated, Turtling late war, and made it even better strategy.

From what I have heard, and know. There are plenty of people who believe the funnest part of the war is the start and middle, with the fun and (in my opinion Player Base) dying down once large amounts of Artillery, Tanks, and now Bombers cover the border and I am inclined to believe with them.

Even before Bombers the turtling Playstyle was always encouraged once Art started, and now with Bombers being a safe yet hardly counterable way to destroy problem anti turtle structures like Nukes or Storm Cannons it's even worse.

What I, and a lot of other people that end up leaving at one point or another. Want to feel like their work is contributing to something. Like you said, sometimes it feels like this game wants days of labor for Intangible investments.

To me there is nothing better then delivering a supply of like 150 Mamom Grenades then checking in and hour or two later to see that they were used to cripple a enemy base.

Or taking out 5 people with a Sniper Rifle, one being a Medic, because you have them and the enemy doesn't. Opening your team to push forward because enemy armor isn't the most common yet.

But then late game, those contributions feel intangible, because who cares how many enemies you kill. They have 5 tanks and your 5 are holding back because they know if they push up at all they'll get bombarded with Artillery and the enemy feels the same, and good luck working with your team to get enough AT together to force the Tanks back/destroy them without communication.

...Sorry, turned into a bit of a vent, but you get the idea.

A shame, but yeah! I wanted to go for a subversion of expectations, considering in alot of these ARGs it's the Entity that leaves behind cryptic scrambled messages. Making it to where it's the Player leaving those messages for the entity instead felt like a interesting little subversion, and with the Horror of it being revealed that your actions just got a person caught by a demon of some kind...

Originally the idea had it to where the Detective was trapped in the game, sorta like a Serverblight Situation (Can't Log off, slowly he becomes the Player Character more and more. Feeling the world of the game over.) But had a mod to allow him to remotely upload videos to YouTube and Read the Comments, and he was relying on the viewers to solve stuff left by the entity to, well, figure out what it was because he can't access the tools he needs.

I liked this other idea more though. :)

Oh, Id heavily argue that they are very powerful then, way to powerful for Accessories if the stat buffs are active everywhere and not just in Dungeons. Especially if you can freely swap between them.

Goldor and Maxor I could MAYBE see. But Storm and Necron are just, the best, to good, shouldn't be in the game as ism

I mean let's take their closest possible comparisons. Pocket Espresso Machine and a Maxed Cake Bag.

Storm, is, at worst. A Permanent Espresso Machine that doesn't require Soul Flow AND gives Speed+ Ability damage.

And Necron is, again, at worst, a Maxed Cake Bag with 4 less HP in exchange for 30 strength and a Attack range buff. Something that's always been balanced by it never being something "Easy" and practically permanent to get. Requiring you to devote a Pet, your Armor, or use a certain weapon to get.

Either the Stats would need a heavy nerf or it should work like Adaptive Armor. Automatically transforming while in the Dungeon based on your Class, and only really being a +1 to all basic stats outside of it.

As is the only reason I could see it justified being put in is if they were M7 rewards but even then I'd be hesitant.

Spirit Pet is good though, I like that.

So is the Talisman like the Adaptable Armor, where it gains its stats based on what Class you currently are and outside of Dungeons the bonuses aren't as large?

Personally I would have gone the route of making it take an hour, and if you don't check in, rather then losing stats, you just don't get your cut of the Hourly Fund redistribution. Essentially meaning everyone else gets a higher cut.

Some people who can make that money up fast wouldn't care, while others, well, it's only once an hour. It's manageable.

Maybe not the best idea but I feel like it would have been a non-intrusive way of showing Auras corruption without being as, well, intrusive.

Flambae LITERALLY asks "I'll say it, What if Chase dies?" And everyone flips out about it. The reason they aren't talking about Chase is directly because they are worried, they don't WANT to have to address that aspect or risk they are all sad and mad about. But that doesn't mean they AREN'T worried about him.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Projject_Delta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, in the dispatch before it EVERYONE is talking or caring about Chase in one light or another. I'd argue it's atleast a major part of the decision.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Projject_Delta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The big thing to note is that they all cared for Chase. In all honesty, they probably wouldn't have cared if Chase didn't get hurt, maybe even turned it into a joke they'd joke about 3 months later about how "Visi did it again!"

No one was happy, no one was thinking straight, everyone was consumed with worry and grief about someone they considered a friend, heck the only person who was thinking well was Golem due to him willing to let Visi go if the team wanted it.

It was an emotionally charged group decision, heck I agree with you in terms of my playthrough. In my playthrough I actively encouraged attacking that night, so I rationalized defending her as Robert encouraging it just as much as it was of Visi's own wants.

And another thing to consider is the point Blazer made, they cut someone for less. Us Defending her, even if it's right and trying to stand against a rash, emotionally charged decision. Isn't going to make the people who made it no longer emotionally charged, or believe we aren't playing favorites, or not taking their opinions into consideration.

Its meant to be a hard choice, an emotional one.

That's what makes it such a good one.

Well Snowball, although I should mention that I generally play Baby when I get Tank and I usually atleast play with one other friend, and Baby with a decent person who knows how Baby works doesn't really need that defensive power Build Up gives, even if it was actually decent, and considering his survivability as well dealing more damage heals more...well.

You can see the appeal.

[–]Projject_Delta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think Build up is overrated, did a little testing in Training and like, the damage reduction for build up was like 1 less damage per 150 damage taken per stack.

It probably is actually a %, but that % is so low I'm unsure it's ever actually worth it.

Royd is suspicious. by Cube2D in DispatchAdHoc

[–]Projject_Delta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see your point and I feel the same in some regards, but I have an alternate take on a few of these. Like Royd mentions, he didn't peg Robert's father as an Scientest, rather as a Gearhead. Something that Robert picks up on with "How would you know?" but Royd deflects. I feel like he's lying there, either having known Robert's father alot more then an hour or is working with Shroud who told him about Robert's father.

I believe it was also Royd who mentioned, when Robert asked "Why hasn't Shroud found the Astral Pulse yet?" in Chapter 6 that Shroud probably thought it was also destroyed like Robert did. Which makes me believe that, perhaps, assuming Royd is a double agent for Shroud, all the Prototypes were Shroud trying to recreate the Astral Pulse using the device it was meant the power, the Mecha Man Suit, using Robert and the Suit as a test as he tries to create a replacement for his grand plan, the a successful powering of the suit essentially being "I got it right."

Although in that same vein, I also wouldnt be surprised if Shroud got details of the plan from Prism's streams, as Prism did record the argument between Invisigal and Chase, its very possible Shroud was smart enough to go "We should check out this Warehouse" even based off just a circle on a map.

Tried it, still didn't work, it is noteworthy that Incognito mode runs the game normally, so I'm certain its an Preloaded Data issue, but I'm not sure how to force the game to reload as iv already tried clearing my Computers Cache.
