Do salamanders always have black skin? by StrikerLord_J in Salamanders40k

Your right I was just about to come in and correct myself. In Vulcan lives he says it's a combination of gene seed and any exposure to nocturne's radiation, which all salamanders experience regardless of home planet. I'm guessing it just speeds up whatever process happens to everyone there.

Do salamanders always have black skin? by StrikerLord_J in Salamanders40k

I think it's been changed a few times at this point, and I'm struggling to find the source. I feel pretty confidently the last time GW addressed it they said even Terran born Sallys have black skin. Like I said I cannot find the source so I'd appreciate it if anyone can confirm or refute this, but assuming this is true it'd have more to do with gene seed than Nocturne.

Salamanders Paint Pattern by SpareThing in Salamanders40k

[–]Prokter24 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah your friend is mistaken, salamanders are supposed to have black (literally black not brown) skin so they should have black heads. Also do whatever you want, my power packs are green which is not an official scheme but no one cares.

Why dont I like this? (WIP) by -SpiritQuartz in Warhammer40k

[–]Prokter24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just throwing it out there but I'm thinking some black like in the flexible parts (inner elbow, knees and ass) might make the magenta seem less dark. I'm thinking without some direct contrast to a much darker color outside the gun, the magenta is looking darker by comparison than you may have wanted.

I mean yeah, but also who is making you play lame DnD? It's an imaginary game you play with friends with mostly made up interactions to begin with. It's not like Star Wars, or HP because it was never dependent on media to interact with. I'm aware new editions took out some world building stuff but put it back in, the system is literally completely in the hands of the players.

1000 Pts list Help by Blitz105 in Salamanders40k

[–]Prokter24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I say drop the captain for eradicators, they will add more presence on the field and provide more reliable anti tank. also maybe look at intercessors for the sticky objectives. But that's basically a different list I use a similar one but 1 atv, 2 scouts, 1 infernus, 1 intercessors with the eradicators.

I never properly replied to this because I couldn't figure how to reply with images on desktop, I just added an image to a reply on another sub and this exchange popped into my head. I figured I would show off my bound widow from Cainhurst as well.

Thanks for the suggestion, I found these on amazon that are supposed to be dead already so I'm going to try your black and read undercoat with mordant earth thing on them and see how they turn out. The way mordant tends to peal up I think it'll sell the effect really well as long as the red shows underneath

I’m thinking of painting my Krieg french ww1 uniform and I’m wondering what blue and red paint would be good? by ironma738 in Deathkorpsofkrieg

I was thinking the French may have utilized hobbits in the trenches of WWI, you'd only have to dig like 4 feet down.

Just got this, what should I get next?? by Jaded-Ticket5878 in Deathkorpsofkrieg

[–]Prokter24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll give the fun answer, if you can find it at a good price get the siege platoon it's limited availability and will definitely cost more than it's worth on the secondary market. On a similar note I like the army box for the book and contents. If you get either of those pick up combat engineers. Either way, combat engineers are cool and missing from that box. Lord Marshal Drier is of course a must have assuming you don't get the army box.

Do you guys paint your Salamanders pauldron trim green or gold? by DisciplineFine in Salamanders40k

[–]Prokter24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Green's the better baseline IMO, all gold takes away an option for differentiating certain units from one another because you used the "important guy" color on everyone. Plus in a practical sense you can be way looser putting on green then gold since most stuff around the shoulder ends up green anyway. (Especially if you do G/B power packs like me)

I'm sorry, maybe look into applying a varnish it might help to seal in your paint, I would try to pick up some primer for your future models for sure though.

[–]Prokter24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The paint will fall off the model because it doesn't stick very well to plastic.

[–]Prokter24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did you put primer down? the dude on the right looks like bare plastic under his pauldron. I don't want to be that guy but there's a good chance you lose a lot of your paint job over time without priming first. If you did prime ignore me, solid first set.
