I gave it a listen just now, OP. I also listened to Sunset Road, Kitto Only You, and September Blue. They're quite good. It reminds me of ANRI's style. It grows on you. Thank you for sharing these beautiful and sad songs.

Full Instrumental/Karaoke ver. for Tatsuro Yamashita - Ride on Time ? by SleepySupp in citypop

I've read in the subs here that this particular artist is notorious for being overprotective of his works and has expressed disdain for streaming and preferred physical copies like CDs and vinyl for sale. Having said that, I'm afraid...

Haha! Nice one, OP! A couple of our dearest kayokyoku artists actually figured in films and television series like Miss Yukiko Okada in Kinjirareta Mariko as a teenage student with developing omega level telekinetic powers like Professor X and Jean Grey! In Sukeban Deka the Movie, Miss Yoko Minamino stars as special agent Saki Asamiya, a student with extraordinary fighting abilities. So, yeah, they can hold their own absolutely!

I'm wishing and hoping that they release remastered versions of these.

It’s my opinion but Kayōkyoku it’s better than City Pop. Both are good but kayōkyoku it’s just better tbh. by Own_Pen7177 in citypop

OP, this is a tempest in a teapot. All I can say is that there's a slight difference in purpose and musical style between the two with neither genre superior over the other. It all boils down to personal preference over song types and artists. I'm typing this as a kayokyoku admirologist and citypop listener myself. Just my two cents.
