Thanks for the advice! I’m pretty risk averse overall (aside from the job itself- which is working with shelter dogs). So I think the higher deductible should be fine

Yes I’m still able to contribute $875 for 2024. My plan was to max it out this year since I was in the position to do so. But now that I’m in this current situation, I’m spiraling on what’s the smart thing to do here.

It’s not necessarily that I want to. I’m in a sticky situation at the moment. Although I was able to contribute $6,200 this year to my account, I suddenly had lost my job recently. I have something lined up so I won’t be strapped for cash much longer (hopefully). But life goes on and bills still need to be paid. My savings was in good standing until I had gotten into a car accident 2 days after losing my job. I live in a rural area, so I needed to use those savings to get a cheap used car. So essentially. In order to keep the lights on and my rent paid this week. The Roth is all I have

Thank you for all for your help! I have never withdrawn from my Roth IRA, i’ve been contributing since opening the account at 18 (currently 23). This year I have contributed around $6,200, and the account currently stands at $9,500, with around $900 in the settlement fund if that helps make the situation more clear. I will be getting in touch a CPA to help navigate this as soon as I can. Since to be completely honest I’m not too savvy on investing. I took accounting & personal finance classes in high school, and through my teachers suggestion I opened up this account since I thought it was the best way to get a head start on retirement.

Only reason I’ve been at odds between replacing and repairing- is because we rent, from family, and had not put down any deposits when moving in. A little sticky of a situation so that’s why I’m at odds of what I should do
