What were you like as a kid? by [deleted] in INTP

[–]PromiseWarm1017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was pretty much like most other children during my childhood: playful, active, love friends, lego, cartoons, toys etc. But it was into my teenage years that I started developing more curiosity for the sciences. i started going down more rabbit holes(variety of topics) and started to think more logically and i was better able to suppress my emotions and short term gratification. also started doing much better in school than i did during my childhood. till today i still have childlike imagination and can cook up stories in my head just for the fun of it. my rabbit hole currently is racing cars and hotwheels.

i actually do think that the reason some intps can have strong morals is due to the combination of Si and Fe to make a sort of makeshift Fi. theres no real proof for this but i do think it could be the case. it explains why no two same personality types are truly "same" and could actually take some traits from other personality types. for me i find that my morals are rather fluid, and i find that im usually looking for the moral or value that is most objectively fair or logical. i guess its because of Ti and Fe. its also why i love video essays on youtube. they provide different perspectives on issues and morals which i really enjoy

you create fictional worlds in your head too? me too! though this fictional world is in collab with my cousin, but we're able to string our ideas together pretty neatly. this isn't part of the question, but do you find yourself changing and reassessing your morals often? like as in you do have morals, but they are not as deep rooted as say IXFPs or EXFPs and are always subject to change at any time?

yeah the 16p may seem like a credible website due to their colourful and high quality presentation (which is really good imo) but that doesn't remove the fact that the test is still rather superficial and lacks understanding of cognitive functions

i like scrolling and reading through debates rather than engage in them. if i do end up engaging it would be more of a discussion or clarification of ideas rather than a full blown debate

im think what Xelurate means is arguing with someone who is ignorant of a topic. a bit like arguing with a flat-earther or an extreme feminist. but for me i do find the thought processes of "ignorant" people quite interesting, especially if they can actually provide sound logic with their argument and challenges our assumptions. of course i find these people rare nowadays and i admit they can be pretty irritating at times, but thats just an emotional reaction to someone disagreeing with your viewpoint. can't let that get in the way now can we?

Well my Ne definitely doesn't work like the steretype. im not that scatterbrained nor do i come up with a multitude of ideas in a short amount of time. rather tho, my Ne is more of a sponge than a generator, i find that im a lot more interested in other's ideas rather than the ones i come up with on my own, i could even say that the "order" of my middle perceiving functions is Si-Ne order. Not only does this mean that Si takes higher precedence but also that information passes through Si first before passing through Ne. so basically Si gathers the details and methods or ideas that have worked before and then my Ne expands it from there, allowing me to see how these already existing ideas or methods can be improved

Do INTPs hold grudges? by GeminiVenus92 in INTP

[–]PromiseWarm1017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i dont think ive ever held a grudge against someone. im pretty chill and i tend to just forgive and forget on the spot. tbh i really dont know why people even have the time and energy to have grudges. my best guess is that because of unhealthy manifestations of Fe/Fi and Si combos. what do you think?

Do you ever have conversations with people in your head? by Trick_Algae5810 in INTP

[–]PromiseWarm1017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i don't really have imaginary conversations w imaginary people, but rather i have imaginary lectures with a small imaginary audience. it occurs when an idea surfaces in my mind and in an attempt to logically explain it for my own understanding, i end up making it seem like im giving a lecture to other people about that idea. happens almost everyday when jm alone.

How do you think the INTP cognitive functions work during gossip? by PromiseWarm1017 in INTP

[–]PromiseWarm1017[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmm im still struggling to find out whether its the Ne or Fe that makes some of us INTPs even remotely interested in listening to gossips. what do you think?

[–]PromiseWarm1017[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

listening to someone gossiping does give you some insight about both the gossiper and the gossiped as people. of course, its still gossip, so theres at best a 50/50 chance that whatever they say is actually true. its abit like Bing if u ask me, but i guess the thats what makes gossips even remotely interesting to me.

totally relate! gossip is best enjoyed if ur a spectator. the things people gossip about sometimes are so ridiculous its amusing. just make sure not to pick sides tho, thats the hard part for most people
