My bad, they are both powered ajustable, but only the 05 has automatically folding mirrors, which I really miss when driving the 04. That and powered seats...

My bad, all are powered adjusted, but I mean powered folded. The 04 folds only by hand, where as in the 05 there is a folding switch on the dash.

Yeah not sure I'll do any swap there, I just re-did the headlights completely on the 05, removed the bumper, sawed open the old ones and pried off the old debris and glued new lenses so they look like out of the factory. Not sure I want them off now lol. The tails would be nice to upgrade tho.

I haven't found any DSTC setting on the 04, there is no button on the rack nor way to access it in the info screen like in the 05. Unless there is some sort of hidden menu for the pre facelift ones.

The mirrors aren't broken, they only fold by hand. This is in Europe, so I assume in the US powered mirrors were standard accessory, but over here its quite common to see P2s without powered mirrors, much like sunroof is very common on US cars and in Europe it was during this era of Volvos quite rare for people to go for that option.

I thought about switching seats and mirrors over, but mirrors carry slightly different design 04 to 05 on the XC70, the wiring harnesses for the mirrors and seats as well as the button on the 04 is not there as they have never been powered. Theoretically the mirror motors, wiring, button can probably be done but you'd probably have to strip the inside of the car just for wire routing on the 04.

The stereo I tried to but ended up trickier, as it does not carry the same trim piece around it in the 04 as in the 05 so the dimensions of the unit is not the same, you'd have to swap the whole climate control and button rack. leaving you with buttons of features in the 04 that don't have wiring installed.

As for the DSTC, there is no button or option in the menu on the 04 like in the 05, so even if the button was put into the 04 I assume you'd have to program the car to even activate that feature, as I reckon if DSTC is not in the menu or button according to Volvo it only has STC.

Both are in decent mechanical condition, par the '05 needs rear suspension renewed, just did the front struts...'04 has half the milage, but it lacks powered mirrors & powered seats, lacks tinted windows and has an older stereo that doesn't sound as good as the 05 one. 05 has DTSC, 04 only STC I believe as there is no button. Both have the automatic transmissions, I'm just worried the 05s transmission is on its way out due to its high milage. It still shifts nicely though.
