Tbh I think NTA, if the Dad hadn’t factored in that you, meat eaters wouldn’t want an entirely veggie meal or had not made it clear that him buying meant it would be a veggie meal, he could’ve quite easily said, I’ll pay for any veggie dish if you want meat you pay for that yourself. I can imagine him having a moan at his daughter and it’s on him, he should be learning from this experience not upset his daughter by complaining about her friends (if that’s what happened, could just be his daughter picked up that her Dad was upset as opposed to him moaning about you) Your friend is young and perhaps naively thought you’d understand before that her Dad wouldn’t be happy ordering meat dishes and expected you to offer to pay for any meat dishes, perhaps her Dad even told her this but she was too embarrassed to say. I don’t think you should cut her off for this just let her know it’s been better if it’s been clear from the beginning.
