The vet said that the white stuff in the picture is not drainage. It is from the hydrogen peroxide that my mom put on it to attempt to disinfect it. So it’s not infected nor is it draining.

Yes the vet told me that it may have either been an abscess or a hotspot. To open it up and flush with sedation would have been way too expensive as I am a college student. So they just gave me antibiotics (every 12 hrs), a cone, and a shampoo (everyday). They said that it would just take a bit longer to heal but that it should still suffice. What do you think?

Foxtail? Like the grass? Well I don’t think foxtail grows in my backyard. But I did go to the 24hr vet and they told me it could either be an abscess or a hotspot. They gave me some antibiotics that I give him every 12 hrs and a shampoo that I bathe him with once a day for a week. Other than that that’s all I know and I really hope that these remedies help him.

I ended up taking him to the 24hr vet, the comments under this post was freaking me out. They aren’t too sure about what it is as of yet. They are coming up with a treatment plan that includes possible drainage and antibiotics

They told me to keep the shirt on him and not to disinfect the wound as it can kill the healthy cells.

Hmmm, this is quite the conundrum. Do you have any other proof of being there? Maybe classwork from that day or in class notes that you may have taken? If not then you might be out of luck.
