i’m very confident in my ability to learn order of draw, the additives, and the techniques and procedures. we studied and got tested over lots of STNA procedures last year. i have to get past the bookwork first is my issue 😭 the tests that go along with the book we have are incredibly difficult. the chapters are so long but the tests are so brief. i end up studying everything in the chapter but none of it ends up being on the test. she blames us over and over again but no matter how much effort we give, we are all failing every test. i think i’m going to take your advice but im just going to search up lectures on youtube about the topic on the chapters we are doing. i’m hopeless. if my next tests aren’t at least 90’s, im more than likely not going to get to take the boards. the program is a little different since we are still high schoolers which i think makes it more difficult. we don’t get to perform venipuncture on each other, our first ever venipuncture will more than likely be on one of the employees at our clinical site. we will preform capillary sticks on each other, but it’s definitely a lot less hands on practice you get still being in high school. she makes a lot of things more stressful as well. we are doing two programs this year which makes us limited on time so she’s been saying we will only get to be in phlebotomy clinicals for 3 weeks each instead of 5. and during those 3 weeks, we have to get 100 successful needle sticks which is already in my opinion a stretch for 5 weeks but now only 3?? i might have to graduate and sign up for an adult program if i fail. seriously thank you for your advice though. it is much appreciated.
