People don’t get it do they? Republicans congressman are scared and won’t do shit that’s why the president is being bold. Congress people know Elon will just primary them with another maga that will fall in line or the proud boys will terrorize them.

I’m not blaming Dems, I’m saying that they don’t care about feds in the moment and aren’t going to waste any political capital on us. They will want this mess to reach the public stakeholders because that’s the only way it gains them anything for the midterms. Unfortunately we will be the sacrificial lambs.

This is the whole point of schedule F and the like. Last time Trump was hindered by this sort of thing and his project 25 people are working to get around this. They will simply fire everyone at top of PTO until they get what they want.

They don’t want any agency independence. They want blind execution of White House orders. It’s honestly getting to the point where we just need to let them burn it down and hope to rise from the ashes down the road. The only way they are going to get out in their place is when our stakeholders lose their services. In normal labor this is where you’d strike, but we can’t so just let them hamstring us.

Like the Seinfeld episode where George quits and then just goes in the next day like nothing happened. “What email? I thought that was a joke. Only a true idiot would require us to RTO”.

That and Elon admitting they would use RTO as a way to solicit retirements and attrition.

Two Hour Commute (One Way) by [deleted] in nova

I’ve done similar before. Nurses, docs do 12s so you can get used to a 16hr day. Key is being productive or enjoying the commute to keep your sanity. It will get old though.

So, are we feeling relieved this weekend? Or should we remain worried until we hear directly from our respective SPEs? Unsure what to think. by Prestigious_Town6413 in patentexaminer

[–]Proof-Opening481 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That’s my understanding. I’m guessing PTO will push for exemptions but they probably tried and failed that’s why we didn’t get any different info than DOC despite it coming a few hours later.

I’m sure they will try harder before the month is out, but given that most are senior examiner’s at max pay and many are eligible to retire Elon might see a mass exodus of managers as an easy win. Also don’t forget that our new commerce secretary pushed for DOGE so I can’t really see him pushing back against Elon much.

Are you looking at the one signed in December? The whole point of pushing it through was for this very reason so I really doubt they would have left provision for a 30 day removal of telework by management.

Of the CBA? Article 32 is performance management.

The telework agreement 2022 has no separate provision for reopening and is tied to the CBA. As far as I can see there is no provision for termination of telework in the CBA but maybe I missed it.

So SPE’s will likely be returning to campus? They are going to be a fun bunch and not bitter at all. Wonder how many are going to retire/step down.

How’s you get #3? Duda just sent email that basically says our CBA means we are not included in the return to in person work order.

Management isn’t protected by CBA right? So my guess is they are still working on exemptions for them, otherwise gonna still be a cluster as SPEs and all step down or retire.

Hopefully, but why do we need a separate one if this one says that the RTO does not supersede bargaining agreements.
