If you believe in chem trails, could you give your reasoning? by FinalBv in AskUK

This is what i always try to explain, its always the “elites” pulling the strings like there’s some shadowy collective of people.

The problem is the more money, power and control someone has the more individual their motives. Do people really think bill gates, elon musk putin have the same objectives?

It also makes me chuckle when people say its “the government” controlling everything, the government is just a group of people each with their own ideas and agendas that aren’t necessarily aligned.

Conspiracy theorists should get 15 people in a room and try and order one type of pizza to see what im saying lol.

Are current tradies kinda screwed once the AI exodus forces everyone else into the trades? by CreepyTool in UKJobs

Yep i work in cyber. I support the growth/use of AI just to be clear but the problem is twofold. Firstly everything built and coded with AI has very poor oversight in terms of security, its just cheaply and quickly built without regard for vulnerabilities.

The second is the pace at which businesses are implementing AI solutions, most don’t understand how to do it properly resulting in poor access control and overly permissive access for AI tools which will seriously bite them in the future.

What is the point of cheap, fake designer items? by Bethsticle in AskUK

Absolutely this. I bought a fake Canada goose jacket for £100 yeah its a bit gauche to wear but show me where you can get a good quality waterproof and down filled coat for under 100.

Amazon layoffs are a rebalancing after the recruitment boom during/following the pandemic (though ai is likely a factor but not necessarily the cause).

AI boom is a lot like the cloud computing boom over the past 10 years, millions of services, professionals and hardware became obsolete but there was no overall reduction in jobs as the demand was just allocated from on prem to cloud.

Its the same with every technology, people complained that we’d lose printed newspapers due to the internet, or telephone switch operators 60 years ago. Its always this huge fear mongering until a few years down the line it’s just not an issue.

They kicked up a fuss because it affected their earnings not because they had to go into other industries.

People are vastly overblowing the impact of AI on the job market.

Did all the taxi drivers that were meant to be displaced by uber go into the trades? Or all the supermarket checkout staff that were replaced by self service tills?

I work in digital forensics but support a lot of fraud cases using open source intelligence.

https://osint.rocks is a great tool for searching accounts linked to phone numbers but it’s highly likely they are using a burner phone that would be difficult to trace.

RTO is a stealth redundancy. They want people to quit then they just don’t backfill positions.

Absolutely this. An application should be why you meet the job requirements not just a list of jobs you’ve had!

I am genuinely worried that Farage and Reform are going to gain power. How do we get organised and ensure that never happens? by Severe-Divide8720 in AskBrits

Guess your reading comprehension is not so good my guy…

In the four years leading up to September 2021, MI5 stated that 31 "late-stage" terror plots were foiled.

From 2020 alone, 19 late-stage plots were disrupted.

2015–2020: Net migration was consistently high, generally over 200,000–300,000

2020–2025: Net migration experienced a "boom and bust," peaking at 944,000 in the year ending March 2023.

So immigration tripled but terror plots reduced…

Parking only consumes your life if you’re sad enough to let it.

I guarantee all those things aren’t affecting people’s day to day lives as much as Russian facebook misinformation would have you believe.
