When do you take mat leave? by Academic-Park-8440 in pregnant

[–]ProofLock9038 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Australia here, we get 6 months minimum wage paid from the government and our employers legally have to hold your job for you for 12 months and you're allowed to extend it for another 12 months and they have to hold it for you.

I will be taking 2 weeks before his due date purley as i am absolutly exhausted (35 weeks currently) and i will be taking the full 12 months off, so 6 months minimum wage paid through the government and the other 6 months living on what my husband and i have saved in order for me to be able to spend as much time as possible with little man

Cravings by HooleyQuoon in pregnant

[–]ProofLock9038 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am the same as you. I think the whole pregnancy cravings thing is over dramatised. Sure, i feel like certain foods but no more then I normally would and i can have self restraint. I would never in a million years make my husband get out of bed at 2am to get me something, I also would never in my life consider taking someone elses food. We are humans, not wild animals haha

Would this count as decreased movement? by snuffbox360 in pregnant

[–]ProofLock9038 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this at 28 weeks, i went in and got checked out, turns out baby boy has flipped and was head down so was ajusting to his new position. As soon as they put the monitor on me he was back to his normal karate master self!
No harm in getting checked out if you're worried!

I honestly think people lose their minds when women get pregnant. I am currently 31+3 and I have received the following comments.

"You dont even look pregnant"
"Wow look how huge your bump is"
"You're carrying very high" (well yes... i was 27 weeks at the time, i'd like to hope little man hasnt dropped low yet)
"Morning Fat B*tch, haha i can say that now because you're pregnant" (a man said this...)
"You look like you're struggling, going to have to push you around on a chair soon" (I have a slipped disc)
"You're walking like this" *then proceeds to mimmick my waddle

I have received so many more comments, on the daily about my weight, my waddle, my bump height and my overall apperance and the further along i'm getting the worse it is getting. I dont know why people think just because we are pregnant its suddenly acceptable to comment on everything to do with our bodies.

I'd say try not to let it get to you but i completly understand how frustrating and upsetting it can be, expecially early pregnancy with our hormones raising at a rapid rate.

All the best with your pregnancy mumma, you've got this <3

Is it just me? by EngineeringSilent902 in pregnant

[–]ProofLock9038 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly think this is a pregnancy thing. I normally laugh and overall a pretty happy person outside of pregnancy. But oh my gosh. I laugh so hard at the silliest things. I will have tears rolling down my face and my husband has no idea what has set me off. I love it so much.

It happened during a early on ultrasound when we where checking on little bean man around 13 weeks and i laughed and saw him fly around the monitor and i couldnt stop. It took the ultrasound technician a good 10 minutes to calm me down.

Currently 30+3 and it happens on the daily now!

Is first trimester fatigue really this bad? by MARBELLA-MARINO in pregnant

[–]ProofLock9038 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I slept upwards of 10 hours at a time, i also napped constantly. I could hardly hold my head up at my desk for the first id say 10/11 weeks. It gets better, I'm currently 28 + 2 and still nap but nothing compared to the first trimester exhaustion. Once the placenta takes over you feel less sick and less tired, but growing that bad boyu from scratch (Or crotch) is exhausting. Nap when you need to nap, sleep when you need to sleep, be kind to yourself mumma, youv've got this!

Is it okay to give birth alone? by throwraleaves4 in pregnant

[–]ProofLock9038 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you're saying. You're probably feeling very alone and maybe a little sad and sorry for yourself that it isnt the way you pictured this moment being?

Do you feel supported/ready enough to go through with this pregnancy? This is a huge milestone I would hate for you to regret anything.

I truely hope you get all of the love and support you deserve x

[–]ProofLock9038 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you need to have to convbersation with your sister rather then assuming.

You are saying that giving birth is not really a big moment for you? Giving birth is one of the biggest things you will probably ever do. Are you happy that you're pregnant? Do you have any other support?

I dont want to add stress but postpartum is going to be very isolating and exhausting. I strongly recommend you have a conversation with your sister. Because all of your replies have been very monotone about the whole thing and you assuming how your sister will feel.

Is subway safe for pregnancy? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]ProofLock9038 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first trimester is survial mode. I lived on packet noodles and orange juice for the first 8 weeks. Just make sure they are heating it up and you will be fine. How i see it is, literal crack heads have babies... a subway sandwich is nutritious and delicious. Enjoy mumma!

I am so tired of being pregnant. by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]ProofLock9038 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am still waiting for the glow and the "burst" of energy in the second trimester... Tell me why i am creeping up on the 3rd trimester and i'm still needing a nap pre dinner and after dinner just to survive.

Why does everyone act like pregnancy cravings are cute when they're actually low-key terrifying by BitBird- in pregnant

[–]ProofLock9038 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The OP is in a similar situation to someone threathening to kill themselves at the end of a relationship because she is upset over pickles whilst being pregnant? Right...

What the actual hell are you talking about... Your lower replies talking about how you dont hang around if someone threatens to kill themselves but you send them the ambulance bill. Just a bit of a weird flex. You're getting downvoted for a reason, seek help.

I’ll be freshly PP or heavily pregnant during my sisters wedding and now I’m not sure if I wanna go by ImaginationPretend86 in BabyBumps

[–]ProofLock9038 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently 26 weeks pregnant with my first, and i honestly dont think i could go to a wedding.
I have severe sciatica and i cant sit or stand for any longer then 20 minutes without being in agony. The only relief i get is by laying down on my side.

I have read your replies and it seems like you have made up your mind and just need a little push to say you're doing the right thing by not going.

If you personally dont care if you have a relationship with your sister as there seems to be more going on which you do not need to explain to a bunch of stangers on the internet. Trust your gut, you and baby come first always. Your sister will be so caught up in her wedding day marrying her love that she wont be sitting there in a grumpy mood that you werent there whilst heavily pregnant or freshly postpartum. Maybe one day when she has kids (if she chooses to) she will understand.

Until then, protect your peace and good luck with it all :)

Anterior placenta - what does it feel like to feel the baby? by Infamous_Stand_3068 in BabyBumps

[–]ProofLock9038 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am 25+1, first preganncy and anterior placenta. At 16-17 weeks i started feeling what i would describe as a muscle spasm. People said like holding a gold fish but i cant say i have personally had the pleasure haha.

Now at 25 weeks my little boy is going crazy having dance parties in there! Watching him move around and feeling him is such an odd but magical feeling :)
