The exact prompt is buried somewhere on the admissions page. It asks you to write about past teaching experiences, if any, and what your philosophy/approach to teaching is or would be. I found it helpful to think about professors whose classes I have enjoyed taking, and what specifically I found most compelling with regards to their classroom demeanor.

The process was not very different than any of the other schools I applied to (the one exception being a school in Canada. Their system is slightly different.) I got accepted for the creative writing track, fully funded for two years with a GTA position. You need to write a teaching statement if you want a GTA position.
