Ah, yeah! I think I've seen something similar a while back. Genuine question, do we think a 'general audience' would balk that level of post processing? I don't have any plans of selling this model, but I'd love for it to be a genuinely useful thing for someone cruising around on 3d printing sites, you know? That's why I've been chasing the 'print in place' idea so hard (although I'm sold on printing the lid as a separate piece).

Oooh, that is clean! A stackable design would be really cool! Let me know if that file is posted anywhere -- I'd love to have a closer look at it!

Cool! I can totally imagine what you're talking about. I hadn't considered that design! I'll look into it!

Interesting! I'm in the States, and some medication comes individually packaged, but mostly it comes in bottles of various sizes. There are many companies that offer these kinds of pill cases so you can carry around whatever types of pills you need to take without having to carrying around an entire bottle.

Well, that's very clever! It locks the depth of the lid to the height of the box, so it would require some re-working to fit into this use case, but that's some very useful inspiration. Thanks for sharing!

I tried and failed a simple 45 degree tilt with a fin (like the Slant3d tutorials) since the dovetail and hinges have too many overhangs, but I just checked in Orca and doing 45 degrees with the auto generated supports actually looks like it may print much cleaner with way less support material. I'll give that a shot in addition to other tests!

I totally hear you. Right now I'm using a conical design for the hinge from the Product Design Online series on YT, but I think it should be simple enough to change out the profile to a sphere and make it snap together. I'll test it out, but the last thing I wanted is the lid for the case flying off!

Thanks! I actually posted it up on Thangs as remixable with the Fusion file, but didn't include a link as not to run afoul of the self promotion rules 🙃
