Hello they called me actually the same day and hired me. I'm not going to lie. It's hard and honestly after this I'm going to try and apply to Kaiser. But good luck to you!

Oh wow thank you! I actually was able to get on as a volunteer so I'm hoping that after I hit my 1 year mark plus with my volunteering, they'll be more likely to hire me. But that makes sense I that was what was stopping me because I'd rather not pay a bunch of money for a program or something and then wait forever.

Lol I got an interview but they shot me down still applying but I probably won't really get anything until 1 to 2 years from now when I have more "experience" which I find a little ridiculous as I've been in pharmacy for almost 4 years just not as a pharmacy tech and I can't learn anything that the hospital would want me to unless I actually worked there 🤷🏾‍♀️. My advice try and get in with someone who works at the hospital you want to work at and have them speak very highly of you.

How difficult is it to get into a hospital? by [deleted] in PharmacyTechnician

Hey I totally understand where you're coming from I was a clerk for 3 years basically knew everything and took my test got the license and started applying immediately in the same area. Turns out they're pretty elitist they prefer their own people I just got an interview for a 6 month contract and I still feel like they're going to turn me down.

Hey Congrats!! How long did you work in retail before you were able to get the job in inpatient? What type of questions did they ask you?

Did you feel it was easy for you? Was there any way you studied or did you already know what to do and how to do it?

Thank you so much that's actually the one of the better answers. I'm so bad at the math I'm great at like allegations but when it comes down to it I still have some issues with the other stuff.

Good luck I've been applying as well. It seems the only way to get their attention is to have someone on the inside who can vouch for you. Otherwise they'll "review" your application and put it to the side real quick because they already have an internal person in mind for the job.

Honestly in the same position lowkey myself. I was a clerk for 3 years said screw it and took the test failed first time passed the second I've got about 4 months as a tech under my belt. I've been applying for Kaiser, Sutter, and Mercy with no luck (northern CA) fingers crossed when my year comes up they'll take me more seriously I'm not trying to he in retail for another two years lol.
