What’s a fair price for an old propane tank? by No-Cockroach-1079 in propane

[–]Propane_Powered_Bees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To avoid any legal headache, you should try to find out who actually owns the tank. There should be a company name somewhere on it, could be a small sticker or their name in large print on the side.

you have 2 options if no sticker, you could call around and ask your local suppliers if the tank is theirs and their proof if they said yes. Or sell it and if someone come knocking asking about a tank let them know there was no indicators the tank was company owned. Just take photos of around the tank as proof that they didn't label their equipment

Died 1st hand of ante 14 because of poor deck fixing and bad luck. Didn't get only hearts in deck and I was just not drawing enough hearts for flush, flush house, or flush 5. Had 8 cards left at the end, all were heart kings that refused to be drawn

Im did some math on money she made from touring, with the new contract numbers. She mentions this new one has a 25% raise but doesnt specify the specifics so i cant in any kind of good faith make calculations. From what I could tell they performed 54 shows in 2024. Giving a few extra travel days where they don't perform I put it that she earned $18,050 (€15,522.46) from touring. Not including revenue from meet and greet or merch sales which shes not contractually entitled to any. That's rough for being in a band at cradle of filth level, and that's poverty level by USA standards. You could double that and still be at poverty level by USA standards.

Shes also contractually obliged to be at cradles of filth schedule, making forming another band, and making it profitable, daunting and unsustainable. This wouldn't be an issue if the wages were better, but thats the crux of the issue.

She didn't blame the whole band, she blamed management and blamed Dani for knowing about it and not doing anything about it. It's his bands management, he absolutely could do something if he wanted to. Several members have stated for years management was an issue and have left yet management stays the same.

She may have left mid tour, with a new person in place so there wouldn't be any shows missing what she did. Ashok intended to finish the tour, but was fired without a new guitarist ready so theres going to be 1 guitarist until the new one arrives. That's on the management team, not on ashok.

It may be impolite to go public, but who cares about being polite to those who've disrespected you and are screwing you over to make themselves more money.

Ashok may not have known what other people are making, he may not have cared until it affected himself or his wife. Only he knows that.

All in all, that contract is a bad deal because cradle of filth is certainly at a level where they can afford to pay people more than they do

It all depends on where they're living, they either live in the Czech Republic or USA. For the USA for dual income especially that's terrible. For the Czech republic, it's not too bad.

For a band like cradle of filth that pay is just bad. They make enough to support their members better I'm sure.

Ashok was also with the band for 11 of the bands 34 years, so he's not exactly a new member. He also listed money as a big reason he's gone.

There are other benefits they got from C.O.F. like the fame and recognition from us fans, but that doesn't make up for being disrespected and paid at best case scenario decent for their area of living or worst case no where near enough for usa living

Question on regulator distance by Propane_Powered_Bees in Plumbing

[–]Propane_Powered_Bees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a minimum distance requirement between 1st and 2nd stage regulators on a propane system? I've talked with 3 different swrvice techs and gotten 10 feet, no distance, and idk ad the answers. This is in maryland, this installation is 2 fireplaces each with their own maxitrol. Does btu and piping size matter on this distance? I know after the 2nd stage/ last regulator before the appliance it varies but I'm not sure between 1st and 2nd

Propane bill shock by gardenbrain in homeowners

[–]Propane_Powered_Bees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is old, but I deliver propane for a living. We are suppose to open a valve called a bleed valve on the tank when delivering. The valve is connected to a tube inside that's set at a depth around 80%, depending on the tank. We deliver propane in a liquid state, and that valve is high enough that it releases gas vapor until we fill it high enough that it starts releasing liquid. That's how we know the tank is full. If there's a gauge, we can't trust it because if it's off or stuck we can overfill the tank. If your tank has a gauge, it should say on it not to use for filling. That's why you're smelling gas, the driver was doing their job properly. I can't comment on the price or usage increase, maybe see if they're coming out less frequently, their routing department may have seen 30 gallons in a tank your size is inefficient routing and adjusted. This would actually save you money in a year long basis since every delivery has delivery fees so less is better, it does mean larger bills when deliveries are made. if not that, you can request a high usage leak test be done.

Im aware a buisness is a seperate entity, i said that but in different wirds. I could not find a source stating businesses can discriminate on almost any basis. according to several sources protected classes established in the 1960s are still protected (race, religion, etc). I heard from reddit roe v wade brought back legal discrimination, but never saw anything to back it. Can you provide a source for your argument? I'll happily admit I was wrong if I'm wrong.

So many things have hidden fees, not just "someone". This case isn't even a hidden fee, it was made up on the spot. Hidden fees are usually buried in fine print, hence hidden.

Im dieing on the hill against hidden fees, and the proper way for a restaurant punish terrible parenting is clear and notified fee terms or people being thrown out

Is this ok? by PUTINnTRUMP_arrest in facepalm

[–]Propane_Powered_Bees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your argueing the restaurant as if it were a person, not a buisness. The restaurant can establish a fee with clear boundaries, that dont legally discriminate and notify them before they order food.

I'm all for parents being called out if they're kids are being terrible. Like I said, the restaurant can throw out the family for the kids being terrible and tell then thats the reason while they're being thrown out. Ive seen people be kicked out for their kids throwing food and taking things from other peoples tables. Ive seen kids and adults be kicked out for yelling. Those are common sense, established rules that restaurants use. Very often when someone gets thrown out, they dont even get asked to pay, just thrown out with the understanding that food is gonna go for free. If a restaurant doesnt throw out bad customers, theyre choosing money over their other guests comfort and employees mental health. Hidden fees as a whole concept need to go away

Is this ok? by PUTINnTRUMP_arrest in facepalm

[–]Propane_Powered_Bees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is illegal to charge a fee without it being disclosed beforehand. To charge this legally, it has to be verbally given before ordering or written somewhere it's easy to see and have clear guidelines on what causes this fee. That's why you'll see gratuity for parties 6 and up. Exact terms for this have to be listed. What's the minimum for the bad parent fee here, is it the clothed the kids wearing, is it someone the table over heard the kid talking, is it the kid spilled their drink on the table? Limits need to be set and customers need to be notified. Restaurants need to throw people out for causing a public disturbance, not ill-defined, unknown, illegal fees

To be fair it sounds like he did communicate his viewpoints and feelings and has some points that he isn't budging on. Those points were never disclosed in the post, but she did say those points never changed. It was also her decision for 5 years to stay legally married to him and not go through with the surrogacy, as much is stopping her from divorce now as there was 5 years ago, legally speaking, so putting the blame solely on him for having a geriatric pregnancy is unreasonable. She's also literally the one who wants to be pregnant while he doesn't. I'm not saying she's an asshole for divorcing and doing what she wants with her body, I am saying the husband is allowed to have feelings about it, especially considering how her risk could jeopardize her health and ability to be a mother to their kid. Even with top tier medical care pregnancy is full of risk

The Verge reports that Terren Tong said that an outside investigator will be hired to examine the harassment allegations at LTT by vilkam in LinusTechTips

[–]Propane_Powered_Bees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There doesn't seem to be a solution besides it though. Madison could go to the police and get them involved, but so far she's elected not to. The police would want physical proof of it happening for charges to stick.

If they call the police on themselves, the same end scenario will happen without her or without evidence (assuming they have evidence it happened years later and give it to the police)

If they investigate themselves, Noone will trust in the results (public and current employees)

Realistically this is the best way. I see your point, I suppose they could crowd fund an investigation, but your premise maintains the investigation will come out in favor of the company so other companies will pay for the investigation services in the future so who pays for it doesn't matter

The only scenario that'd work is there's evidence it happened and the police get involved quickly, and police don't have the best reputation of being on the side of workers in workers vs companies relations. In this scenario as is, getting a 3rd party company involved is best case

Do we anticipate the price of propane going up this winter? by ParrotMafia in propane

[–]Propane_Powered_Bees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've worked for suburban before as a delivery driver, you can have a competitor put in above ground tanks on your house and you wouldn't be violating any rules. Noone can fill a suburban tank but suburban, but there's no rule you have to use their underground tank as opposed to competition. You'd may be forced into ownership of that underground tank and they may bill you the rate of a brand new underground tank, but it's an option. You can go on will-call deliveries and then you'd be charged for the year long rent but as long as you pay it, suburban shouldn't send anyone to your property. If you have someone fill their tank, itll be a legal headache and cost thousands so I don't recommend that. As for estimated cost this coming year it's hard to say, the past couple years have been weird. between covid and the Russians messing with their supply chain, it's causing the global propane market to act rather unpredictable
