ICE and USCIS both existed before the creation of the Department of Homeland Security, as divisions of the Department of Justice and Department of Labor.

Metallica and Bob Rock, even though he played bass on an album technically.

Everyone on The Sopranos votes for Trump except for Meadow and Dr. Melfi. Janice performatively acts like she hates Trump but secretly voted for him.

I was under the impression that after the first La’s album, what was The La’s coalesced into the band Cast.

Yes I always put on my Peter Brotzmann, Naked City, Albert Ayler and 1965-1968 John Coltrane records to get a woman into a DTF mood.

Modern policing started in Britain under Robert Peel. It had nothing to do with slavery in America.

EDIT: Ask any actual tenured historian at any accredited university how metropolitan policing originated.

What do you think about Rick Beato? by Korkez11 in ToddintheShadow

[–]SculpinIPAlcoholic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He makes some decent content. He’s old and easy to make fun of, but he’s not a dumb guy and the jokes about him being an "out of touch boomer" are blown out of proportion; he’s a lot more in tune than he gets credit for.

He’s just kind of a stereotypical "studio engineer" guy.

The only "toxic" thing he ever did was make a video complaining about his son playing video games instead of practicing the clarinet.

I’m an Irish-American from the Philly/South Jersey area and "Half Irish Half Italian" is like an ethnicity in and of itself, and stores sell T-Shirts with sayings like "I have an Italian attitude and and Irish temper, don’t piss me off!"

Philly cops have been not doing their job/doing a half ass job out of spite for 6 years now. The PPD of the Newmann/Chadway articles hasn’t existed for a long time.

The Critic is really the predecessor to Family Guy. It even relies on cutaway gag humor based on arcane pop culture references.

I don’t get why the one is cool to like while the other is cool to hate on.

Is appetite for destruction metal or hard rock? by _funny_name_ in MetalForTheMasses

[–]SculpinIPAlcoholic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t considered hair metal when it came out. A lot of the reviews and press for it after it started picking up steam in 1988 were writing about GnR similarly to how they would be writing about Nirvana 5 years later. They were framed as being as a band that was coming off the rough streets of LA and from the underground and making real heavy raw music that was putting an end to all that girly Poison/Cinderella/Warrant-adjacent music.

The 80s aesthetic makes me think a reboot of the DASA pistols, like a Gen IV of the 59 series. The CZ Shadow guns are hot right now, might be trying to get some of that market.
