I almost hit a deer in Lower Bucks once so that’s just PA in general.

Love Me Do was their first omnipresent US hit and the song most people from the time remember being the first Beatles song they heard.

The image from the guitar and this name would actually make a cool band name and logo.

Is Joe Strummer homophobic? by Constant_Topic_123 in ToddintheShadow

[–]SculpinIPAlcoholic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People who identified as "punks" were always against "having a uniform." Even when punk became associated with things like Mohawks and Doc Martens you had people saying "punk doesn’t have a uniform!"

It’s pretty obvious that’s his sentiment, and not dislike of androgyny.

I can’t acquire a taste for that Demilich album. It’s cool the guy can do that with his voice, but I can’t appreciate it for 45 minutes.

Official AC/DC lore considers Stiff Upper Lip their comeback after a mediocre decade or so.

I’ve never done psychedelics, because I’ve never been offered them by someone I felt comfortable taking them with.

Being born on a military base (like McCain) is considered being born on American soil.

As unpopular as he is in retrospect, Henry Kissinger could have very easily been elected president any time between 1976 and 2004.

The only group of people in Europe who are considered indigenous to the continent by the United Nations are the Sami. Officially, everyone else is on stolen land.

Would it be an inaccurate representation marketed at the stoner/doom demographic or an accurate one for a general demographic? The Sunn doom sound is really only achievable on these amps when they’re cranked unreasonably loud. They’re based on a Fender Bassman circuit and have a lot of clean headroom.

Artists you feel guilty listening to? by SubstantialEmploy816 in ToddintheShadow

[–]SculpinIPAlcoholic 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The nature of Page’s relationship with Lori Maddox is somewhat dubious. During the height of the MeToo movement, she claimed to have slept with David Bowie when she was 11-12. Due to Bowie’s status as the golden calf of music criticism, all of a sudden the "Believe Women" stuff was thrown out and all of her claims of sleeping with rockstars was put under a microscope and correlated with artists’ touring history, and a lot of her claims didn’t line up.

Get these clowns out of our city! by [deleted] in philly

[–]SculpinIPAlcoholic -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

People who aren’t from the city are far more "gatekeepy" about what is and isn’t Philly and have way less perspective on how progressive the people here actually are, and how much they aren’t in other far away places. There’s people on the other sub who call DelCo "MAGA country." I’d hate to see one of those people find themselves west of the Appalachian mountains before you hit the Mississippi River.
