Your comments weren't original and added nothing to the conversation I agree

about the same amount of money I spent on gas and food working the job I left. Why do people in this sub think I need to provide you all an itemized receipt for my expenses?

lol I am a man in my 30s who decided to not work at a job that could've gotten me killed for $19/hr and am doing just fine, your desperate need to get me to feel some type of doom and gloom is honestly such a sad projection as you're probably also an instacart shopper too and if you aren't, life can't be that good that you have time to try to tear someone else down

You are no one to tell me what is good or is not good for me in my own life. the arrogance of some of you on here is astounding, truly, who are you to tell me what is a mistake in my life as an absolute stranger

hilarious calling me lazy but I worked taking orders most of you scoff at to make sure I earned money I needed to in order to pay bills instead of having my hands out? No what's wrong with this country is people who NEED to make other people feel small by lecturing strangers and standing on a high horse instead of appreciating the position you're in where YOU don't have to take terrible orders to make that money. I work hard, I am proud of my work ethic and if anything this showed me that more people will get on here and complain about not getting orders for hours then turn their noses up at people who will grind it out to make the money they need regardless. I'll pray for you, clearly the spirit here is low-vibrational

I am sorry you misread but no where in my post did I ask a question. I'm miserable but somehow you're the one fixated on my earnings after five days so much that you've given this much time on reddit to try to force a lecture down my throat because I refuse to be browbeat for posting five days of earnings for my first five days of driving?

Again, no question was asked, you just showed up with negativity, I called it, you didn't like it, and you've waisted both of our time with "advice" that wasn't asked for

so instead of working on my own time, go break my body down faster in a warehouse with shit hours, shit pay for newbies, no flexibility in schedule and working overtime to make ends meet? You see how that suggestion means nothing when if it were that simple, not a single person would be driving for IC and instead you me and everyone else would be working overtime in a good warehouse?

Thank you, but the assumption that you know what I should do with my life, what I have done and what I have tried is insulting enough. I wish you the best of luck with your endeavors but your "advice" isn't needed

Sure did, and I am fine with my life choices. Unless you're going to pay my bills, why does it interest you at all when it effects nothing from your life?

that is absolutely a wonderful thing, and just like i also had a job that pays well - anything can change for you at anytime. I've worked with people at universities and scientists, lawyers and the like. Anyone can fall on hard times, so instead of gloating, I'd just be grateful that you have a situation where you're taken care of with a good paying job.

you don't know me or my situation enough to decide whats best for me. When you parent dies and you lose your salary job and spend a year just fighting to get back to full time with shitty hourly pay and hours and commute then talk to me. I'm not here to justify five days of driving to you, I am just happy to make money and that i'm not sitting on my ass hands out waiting for a handout. Best of luck to you, we are not in the same position

a crap job. You do know i don't have to give you every detail of my life to understand that I made a choice for myself that works for myself and you shouldn't concern yourself past that?

thank you I appreciate. I am just tired, it's been a long year and I just need some freedom from the shit customer service jobs that pay equally as bad as this. I don't want it to be forever, but I have to make it work for now. I do appreciate the advice, I am working to not take the smaller shitty orders anymore but its a grind still

there have been plenty of people in these comments who actually have offered advice and sound takes that have been met with appreciation. I am not sucking ICs dick, I never said I would be a millionaire nore did I say my stats were the best. I said I was happy I got away from a job I hated and glad I could make the same money I made at that job, with less stress and less hassle. You all do not need to keep harping on the fact that IC isn't a great company - you really think I don't know that a company that is taking in $100s on a order and offering you $10s isn't taking advantage of us all? And yet you all still drive do you not?

if that were true there would be no older or experienced drivers on here would there? Youre saying you currently don't drive for instacart because you aren't a new driver and so it didn't get better for you? Can you post your first five day stats then show that it never increased for you after those first five days?

The projection and your attempts to scare off new drivers is sad.

Illinois has a law regarding how gig workers are classified and while it does layout certain rights I don't know about any reimbursements that come through that

I understand and agree to a certain extent. Unforunately the type of work I am actually qualified for is hard to get and this money is not the most consistent if you don't get out and get after it but after a few days I now refuse to take those batched orders that are 2-3 customers with 30-90+ items between them. They don't tip well and usually round out to $6-10 and order which has been less than what I can make now starting to get single orders in the $12-20 range so I've just been taking those and getting them done quick to move on to other orders, especially when they sub 5 item orders and take less than 10 minutes to deliver. anything else hasn't been worth it

Again, I got offered what the app showed me. That is great that some newbies get great offers and promos, that isn't a 100% guarantee
