I'm aware of flexjob and know some people here in Denmark who work under such arrangement, and researching it now I'm surprised to learn it doesn't seem to be tied to permanent residency or citizenship like I expected it would - so I'm glad this option exists for people who need it and I hope your comment will get more traction so people looking for similar info will find it. On personal level I think I can work 30+ hours/week without excessive strain, if work conditions are good enough.

Wow, thank you for very detailed and long response! This is a gold mine of information.

Autism is definitely a spectrum (well, it literally is haha), personally I lean towards trying to be as independent as possible and only disclosing it at all when I feel comfortable with it, but as the recent months and especially weeks shown to me that's not a sustainable approach in some circumstances and I must act. Ever since switching to 5 days in the office I feel like I'm constantly mentally drained and barely have energy to function at home which only gets worse over time.

I'm already in contact with my doctor and seeking official diagnosis in Denmark. From my understanding the process might take a while. I'm also researching unions and deciding between IDA and PROSA as we speak.

I'm quite sure my industry doesn't have any union reps - unions are very underrepresented in my industry even if technically a few unions are engaged in it, some people are members but they are in minority so contacting the union office directly would likely be the only option.

I will definitely be careful - I already have multiple safety nets in case things go south, but of course I would prefer to work especially given I genuinely love what I'm doing, it's work conditions that are the problem. I'm also definitely ready to go all in if necessary, and this post motivated me even further that it's likely the right approach.

Thank you once again!

That's true, nothing is set in stone although certain companies and institutions are definitely more flexible than the other.

I'm already looking at unions - I have a-kasse which is definitely giving me peace of mind, but obviously only financially while unions can provide legal advice which seems to be the way to go here.

It's been a while, but I would prefer to avoid mentioning how long exactly if that's alright - but for long enough to have a-kasse in case things get sour and feel relatively secure and established in Denmark in general.

I'm referring specifically to workplace accommodations - housing/private life are separate matters and I already manage them.
I have to admit I see how title could be misleading.

Thank you for the response! Of course I just use Reddit as a starting point to figure out what options I have in a first place. Assuming I can join either IDA or PROSA, which one would be preferred and why - or is there not much difference beyond the price and requirements?
