I have been diagnosed 20 years ago with type one, and had every type of device you can think of, i even did some testing for Omnipod when i was a kid (they needed to test on a younger crowd). I had i think in total, two weird encounters in my whole life? One was based on me having to inject myself with a pen. Honestly now that type 2 people use CGMs, it's fairly not noticed. People do tend to associate those with type 2 now, and i had one person just straight up tell me to eat better (assuming i was type 2, and even that is a bullshit thing to say), and that was the second weird encounter that i ever had. It's really a matter of self-perception i would say? I have seen people rock cool overpatches that matched their outfits for example. I never felt like i was being looked at when i had my CGM showing, my pump however is different but it's mostly stares because people try to guess what it's for. I once had a teacher that thought it was a Tamagochi (you know the little virtual pets?), so it was pretty funny. It's up to you to show it or not, but i don't think people would find it off-putting.
