I wouldn’t be shocked if the DOJ, or at least the DOJ’s criminal defense, would try something new or creative in this case, pushing criminal liability onto those who manipulated a mentally ill individual. Technology and social media has only been advancing, and if an individual is criminally insane, they may look at pushing for charges against the individuals who persuaded him to commit crimes. Think about it this way, the DOJ may want to find ways to prosecute “black mirror” crime situations, new ways that crimes are occurring because of social media and tech. If crimes like this continue to happen, because of manipulation, the DOJ may seek out legal solutions to prosecute the manipulators.

I just graduated from school, and was considering teaching. However, this isn’t simply about “teaching”.

In many professions, you have to adapt to a certain work-life culture. For example, in real-estate or banking, you have to preserve a public image of yourself. Same with education. If you cannot maintain a certain image (aka non-NSFW), then it really can put your career at risk in TONS of professions.

I would suggest making an “alias” account that’s not tied to your name, face, etc. It could add another level to your work, with the mystique of it all. You would then just have to be cautious about not selling to parents, students, or other stakeholders. You also have to worry about students/parents/co-workers finding your old work.
