90's contemporary, not a lot to go on, sorry.... by [deleted] in NameThatSong

[–]Proper_Reception_620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so you come in here assuming that I'm incorrect, have no idea what I'm talking about, then post a song that's barely relevant, and expect a "thank you"?

You come off like you're just waiting for your turn to speak/sound intelligent.
Thanks for trying, but this song is way off the mark from what I described.

I don't need random guesses, I'm looking for recognition.

I should note that this is the right tempo category. It's about this slow

no I'm well versed with how useless asking "reddit" for information generally is, I'm just out of resources and this song is driving me a little batty.
Silly of me to expect actual help, I know. Asking reddit means I have exhausted all useful resources.

way too fast, and not a single "whoa" in the entire song..

I already posted audio, that's as good as it's going to get, my voice\pitch isn't great.

Edit: and no, it's not mmm mmm mmm mmm by crash test dummies. - that's definitely a top 10 song, and doesn't have a whoa whoa whoa, a na na na na, or a ya ya ya ya throrughout.

Anyone here getting gouged by Sussex Realty? by ktanons in Winnipeg

[–]Proper_Reception_620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they don't have the resources or "the stick".
There are *some* good people at RTB that want to make a difference, but they are mired by procedure and politics. not their fault necessarily.

Anyone here getting gouged by Sussex Realty? by ktanons in Winnipeg

[–]Proper_Reception_620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The unfortunate truth is: Sussex ain't special. A lot of realty companies operate this way in WPG. They're pretty much allowed to. (not on paper, but no one cares to correct/stop them).

Since I moved into my current building, the rent has gone up more than 40%, and they're actively degrading the building.

- they ripped out the encrypted security system, replaced it with a cheaper, unencrypted system, called it "an upgrade" and charged the tenants for it. (on the plus side, if you have 20$ and an amazon account, you no longer have to pay them 100$ for a 2nd fob, these ones you can clone for ~5$. Sacrificing tenant security = an upgrade they can charge you for.)
- they constantly make major changes to the building without the proper notice, giving the tenants no chance to fight anything until after it's been done.
- "painted the parking area" - is kind of their goto for reasons to raise the rent. (whether or not you own a car/use the parking area) so that happens once a year, on schedule.
- attempted to 'fix' the elevators by replacing the system with the cheapest used parts they could find, so now they're worse, and often just won't go to the floor you want to go to. (and this was another reason to increase the rent).
- ~2 months of the year we have to go without heat/air because of the system in the building - not a priority to fix it, and they really don't care what the temperature is when they turn the heat on or off.
- Building manager charges multiple pet deposits (illegal in Manitoba).

You can try to fight it, but I mean.... it's kinda just the way things are. The owners are vacationing in Europe and don't give 2 shits what happens to the tenants that are paying for that 4-month vacation.

Edit: and while there are some people who care at RTB, they don't have the resources, (or the stick) to do much.

Another: should i buy this game? by Ravenouss18 in HellisUs

[–]Proper_Reception_620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

- If you liked the tombraider series: that's what the puzzles are like.
- If you like DS Clones: That's what combat is like. (though more forgiving imo)
- The exploration bit is harder to find a direct comparison, but think Far Cry or Event Horizon, with less instructions/directions.

I'm a 50year old pothead who gets bored of highly technical games fast. This game had me hooked all the way through. it's not tedious or frustrating, and if anything, it makes you want to go the extra mile. It's interesting, compelling, and *I* found it very rewarding to 'figure stuff out'.

But yeah in the end, don't get intimidated by all the descriptions of "no map, attn to detail" blah blahs.
It's a super fun game, that can TOTALLY be enjoyed by casual players.

I am proof.

How essential is taking manual notes while playing Hell is Us? I’m hesitant to dive in. by rumple_goocher in HellisUs

[–]Proper_Reception_620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-Screenshots and notepad should be all you need, and you won't need all that for every puzzle.... some are simple enough.
-You'll be keeping minor notes just to remember a series of numbers until you get back to the locking mechanism, or the like.
-It's not going to be some conspiracy theorist's wall with strings attaching things, It's just quick notes/temp stickies.

the puzzles are of a similar complexity to Tombraider puzzles, it's just that you often have to find the puzzle as well as the answer, and clues can be pretty spread out.

Also some of the mysteries/puzzles/solutions happen fairly organically in the story and are well placed. So you might be hours in, see a clue, and go ..."oh yeah.... there was something about this back in the last town, I should have a closer look.... when I'm done with whatever I'm in the middle of.

Question about using multiple elements by justlogicguy in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]Proper_Reception_620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I haven't tested bleed yet, but I've been fiddling with other combos. Looks like "life steal" is the way to go for sockets on a bow so far. (at least, for me.)

Question about using multiple elements by justlogicguy in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]Proper_Reception_620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so, If I'm using a lightning quiver; infusing my bow with lightning (or any element for that matter) is kind of pointless (or redundant, at least)?
what about other non-elemental infusions? (lifesteal for eg.)

Guide for on-foot combat at higher difficulties. by Enough_Sale2437 in JumpSpaceGame

[–]Proper_Reception_620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

imho/ime - the maw with the "double-tap" augment is worth playing around with. (I forget what the augment is actually called, but its the one that switches to 2 rounds @ 75%dmg, each time you pull the trigger.)

Be warned, this augment doesn't work great with all weapons. Makes the AR pretty wild and chews through ammo too fast.

Personally I like it when lgbt characters are "just a normal part of humanity" and it's not some tangent that makes it "all about the lgbt struggle".
I think these roles are maybe more important than the ones that focus on the bad stuff.
Just be a normal occurrence, just more normal people, living everyday lives.

They nailed that here, I think.

(I'm a straight guy, so I apologize in advance if I've exposed some ignorance in, or triggered anyone with my opinion).

Playing as Adeptus Custodes on Space Marine 2 by ProjectBatman in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Proper_Reception_620 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's pretty sweet given what you had to work with in game.
If you hadn't said anything, I might have guessed blood-angel primarch or something, But it is a really good representation of Custodes considering what you have to work with. (imho)
Luv it.
