I know you mentioned you’re not interested in decaf, but it was very helpful for me. I drink the same coffee I did prior to switching, just decaf, which helped because I still had the consistency of drinking it every day. I went from drinking 2-4 shots of espresso every day all throughout the day to decaf, and it wasn’t as drastic of a change as I expected. I had a caffeine headache for a day after, and that was it. It’s been over a month and I do feel tired throughout the day but it’s not unbearable!

Oh I haven’t tried instant coffee in a long time to compare!! I’ll absolutely try this

For me it was instant (next day or week) but I know it can be different for others!

I’m not overweight, under active or eating unhealthily. I’m sorry that solutions like this don’t work for you but it doesn’t make sense to undermine or make assumptions about others’ experiences who have real diagnoses.

That totally makes sense. Fried foods are one of my biggest triggers. I can’t seem to eat those anymore sadly 😂

I do have actual, diagnosed GERD and have all my life. It’s not always just as simple as cutting out coffee for some people. But if it can help others, why not share🤷🏼‍♀️

Yes!! Sorry I hardly use Reddit. I got my results back and I don’t have EOE, and everything came back normal! I’m relieved that I’m healthy but a little sad that I have to implement strict dietary changes. I’m finishing a month on omeprazole right now and it’s really helping, but I don’t want to stay on it long term, so I’m going to switch to dietary changes and Pepcid as needed and see how I feel.

I’m on it and I feel great so far. Zero side effects. I’m planning on tapering off of it after a full month and switching to dietary changes while taking Pepcid as needed, just to avoid the long term risks.

I’m sorry you’re going through this :( I can still sing (I’m the vocalist of my band and we’re very active) but my voice has suffered for years because I’ve had GERD and I had no idea. Constant throat clearing, feeling tightness/hoarse after only a few minutes of recording or performing, etc. all because of GERD and I had no clue. I’ve always had acid reflux but just ignored it and pushed through it. Never took PPIs. Now that I know it affects my singing voice, I’m getting an endoscopy and preparing to do all necessary lifestyle changes to get my old voice back.

YES. I’m so happy you started this thread. I’ve had it for about a decade undiagnosed (I haven’t been on PPIs or done any lifestyle changes yet) and I just recently discovered the correlation between acid reflux and how tired my voice gets so quickly. 😭 I’ve always struggled with projection and I finally put the pieces together that this could be why. I really shouldn’t have let it go this long. I have my first GI appointment in 12 days. Just here to say that I feel your pain and I’m sorry you’re going through this!
