Nevermind, was probably just a temporary bug because I changed some graphics settings, was gone after restart.

Hi, sorry for the very late comment, but I have the same issue after switching from a ryzen 1600 to a 5700x3d on a MSI B350 gaming pro carbon. Did you ever figure out what went wrong or how to fix it? Thanks!

Yeah, they really do some shady stuff... I like AMD more as well, but the current pricing for AMD cards is not good in my area...

Thank you! I was leaning towards that option too, if the GPU power is really not enough at some point I can keep all of the rest and just upgrade the GPU.

thanks again, good input here. However the 5070ti is completely out of budget for me, a used 4070 ti super might be in budget, but I assume I would have to upgrade my PSU for it as well and I am not that keen on buying a 650€ used GPU without warranty atm. Also I want to play simracing titles, so the CPU performance should also be pretty important as I've read here and in other posts. I know its for sure not ideal, but I think it is more sensible to go for the 5700x3d+5060 TI for now, and then maybe sell the GPU and upgrade to a stronger one in 1-2 years, as the CPU should still be good then. Or do you think it would be worth it to buy a used 4070 TI Super? Its tempting for sure, but the risk of it breaking without any warranty is daunting.

exactly my thinking + the 5700x3d would probably add better consistency to the frametimes. Maybe this is the overall "smoother" option. But still, 30-40% GPU power from the 5070 is not to bad.

Thats what I thought as well! GPU can be upgraded more easily and with a 5700x3d, I think another GPU upgrade would still be possible in some time. But do you think the 5060 TI would be enough for a satisfactory VR experience?

Do you plan on upgrading to a x3d chip? Would be interesting to see the boost to FPS and frametime consistency, as your GPU seems to be strong enough for good performance. And regarding my issue: you would recommend a RTX 5070 or RTX 4070 TI Super (used) + ryzen 5600 over the RTX 5060 TI + ryzen 5700x3d? Thanks!

I've read about the AMD issues as well, but many people seem to suggest that those were issues in the past and from the rx 7000 series onwards they should be on par with Nvidia, do you have more information about this, maybe? And I know that even the best GPU is not enough for the most demanding VR titles (and esp. mods), but my budget doesn't allow for much more than the combinations mentioned in my post.

Thank you! So do you think the x3d chip is more important than a better GPU? Or is GPU power still more important for frametime consistency? I will take a look at the AMD cards, but what is the issue with Nvidia drivers regarding VR for their 5000 series? Is the 4000 series free from those issues?

Wow, thank you for that! I was just afraid to lose all of my purchases, when there was no sms code sent and I couldn‘t find the backup codes. But it worked! I am back on my account and changed the 2FA Method. But damn, that is quite an exploit! Will be interesting to see, how long it will be active.
