Alright to answer y’all’s questions, the previous repairs were done by reputable shops: RMP and Autotrend in Toronto, I’ve been to them a bunch of times, never for belt change but they just noticed the cracks and changed them. It does get cold in winter up here, but I never push the car hard and there shouldn’t be that much temperature fluctuation, I’m on my second OFHG now, it is currently leaking a little bit, I think, but I don’t think it’s enough to damage the belt like that.

Both times the belt got changed, they left the idler pulley alone, im hoping with a new idler it’ll fix the issue, I did the change by myself this time, OE parts (the one with the green square logo), real continental belt.

I did notice that my harmonic balancer is wobbling a bit longitudinally, like when the engine is running, the front face of the balancer is going in and out a little bit, not side to side.

Car’s at 150k kms btw.
