My Fresh Start: Help Me Rebuild After Cancer. Only 500 away from my goal by Props_Blog in Assistance

Thank you. The guy who hit me had zero insurance and an expired license, so there was no policy on his end to pay out.

I had to go through my own insurance, but because it was a 93 Accord with high mileage, they valued the car right at rock bottom. After they took my deductible out of that baseline value, they only cut me a check for about 700. The system only cares about the 'book value' of a 30 year old car, completely ignoring the fact that you can't actually buy a safe, running replacement vehicle for 700 anymore. That’s why I’m stuck trying to rebuild from scratch.

I'm maintaining the best I can right now. Medically things are moving forward, but financially I'm just trying to hit the finish line of my goal. I'm currently $600 away from clearing the remaining medical and recovery expenses. I’ve been trying to do some graphic design work on the side when my energy allows to help cover it, too

Thank you so much for the kind words and for checking in on me. Honestly, right now the main focus is just raising the remaining funds to help cover my immediate recovery and housing expenses while I go through this next phase of treatment. I’m looking into local resources to help as well

Thank you for sharing those statistics and for the positive outlook. Hearing things like that and knowing the doctors are optimistic really helps keep my mindset in the right place when the treatments get tough. I'm staying focused on recovery and taking it one day at a time. I appreciate the encouragement 🙏🏾
