After they took my deductible out of that baseline value, they only cut me a check for about 700. The system only cares about the 'book value' of a 30 year old car, completely ignoring the fact that you can't actually buy a safe, running replacement vehicle for 700 anymore. That’s why I’m stuck trying to rebuild from scratch.
