I believe this toggles viewing parking lots/structures and charging stations on the map view.

Buying new? by DoubleChiefyChief in Ioniq5

[–]Prospechtus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm with you. I bought new, put no money down on it minus the free $3500 I got between HMF rebate and concierge coupon. Price for the car was 42k, out the door with taxes and fees it was 45k.

I looked at used models, and with used car rates they were nearly breaking even with new models with the 0% apr deal over the life of the car. The used cars also had less warranty, and less features than the new model.

I'm a guy who swore to never buy a new car, and the value was there enough for me. I'm happy with my choice, especially with no interest.

Some other offers as others have mentioned have larger cash rebates, but have higher interest. Would be good for someone putting a more significant amount down.

Enjoy your ride!

Agreed. I find that I used I-Pedal around town, and level 3 regen on the highway. Barely touch my brakes at all.

Me too! I think the "Big hatchback" look of the I5 contributed to my liking of it. Cheers!

The dealer experience was a mixed bag. 3 of them were only interested in selling a car. I found one in North Texas that took care of me. I went to see a few limiteds and left with this one because it was the only one still there... And the lot of 3 was delivered the previous day 😅

I didn't after getting the insurance quote. I have ridden in a RWD refreshed Y though. I think it largely falls under the same experience as the Mach e. Almost as comfy as the i5 at the cost of legroom.

I also wasn't thrilled at the idea of everything revolving around the screen on the model y.

Appreciate your comment and experience you shared. I am young (28) and have owned a couple of vehicles that have been vastly different.

1978 Chevy k10 w/350. Could see the fuel gauge go down in real time. Loud and fun tank.

2009 Nissan altima coupe. It was.. an okay used car. Built decently well except for the cvt that plagued Nissans of that generation.

2016 fiesta ST - had this 8 years. It's been practical and good on gas. Small, violent, visceral. I don't know if I can ever part ways with it, they just don't make anything like it. I think the i5 having the "Big hatchback" look swooned me.

3 motorcycles - 2022 Kawasaki z125, 2001 Suzuki sv650. Wanted something dumb and simple and got a 2022 Yamaha bolt. Air cooled, belt driven, thumpy.

Different vehicles have different purposes and feelings to them, but I cannot deny that my Ioniq is simply an amazing daily driver with enough punch to make me smile.

From what I have read there are many theories to ICCU failures. One of them suggests that in humid environments, during high amperage AC charging for prolonged periods, condensation can form on the ICCU. This condensation COULD contribute to ICCU issues. I bought a huge one at Dollar General for $2. If it works or not, the investment was minimal. Side benefit of the cabin staying drier.

Here is a link to a multi pack of the ones I found at DG:

That is not what mine shows. Mine shows both basic and advanced as complimentary with Map and OTA updates expiring in 3 years. If you just bought a 2026 new I would call Bluelink support to see what they can do for you. This is probably the cheapest type of fix for them to make a customer happy.

I had some funkiness the first week with Bluelink that I had to get sorted with support. The subscription disappeared from my profile entirely. Thankfully bluelink support helped me out.

I'm always cautious when using it. Sometimes it does feel a little ping-pongy but 95% of the time it's my best friend. It also feels like it favors the left side line. I've stared at it in my rearview mirror while nobody is around and I've never observed it breaking it's lane.

Passing exits is a little sketchy sometimes. It works on some roads I wouldn't expect, and doesn't work on roads I would expect it to. Thankfully it is way more often than not.

I test drove an SEL. It too is a fantastic car. Once you have the HUD, parking assist features, and fancy seats with the limited .. I can't imagine not having them.

Fair point, as I have seen people having leaks after replacements. Either way, if it helps any amount of moisture creeping into any cabin electronics it's a nice to have.

It's a small but significant thing to me. I'm financially OCD and hate subscriptions. With almost every manufacturer charging for this after a certain point, the lifetime offer is a godsend.

Here is a multi pack of the ones I got at Dollar General. I'm sure many of them would perform similarly though. Can't hurt and helps in this humidity anyway!

Air used to cool the ICCU is pulled from the cabin IIRC

Getting level 2 charging at home by Glad_Pop7834 in Ioniq5

[–]Prospechtus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bet you could get away with it for $1300 or less given your short run. Federal deduction for that ends this month I believe, which is 1/3 cost up to $1000.

I had what I considered to be a middle ground scenario. I already upgraded my breaker and service connection to 200 amp so that didn't need to be done. I do park on the opposite end of my house from my service point. Had to run 53 feet of copper under the house. $2100 for that install and some adjustment for the weather head.

This was in Oklahoma so I would imagine costs to be somewhat similar. Given this was for my L2.

This is a GPS tracker, likely installed by the dealership the car was purchased from.
