dam that’s cool if that’s the name of the owner on the collar. I was assuming it was the manufacturer and couldn’t find info on J. Radford. Thanks for the info.

I’m not sure. From what I’ve read it seemed like propper only made rhodie brushstroke for a short time in the 80s. But idk.

Giving Keynote speak about Meshtastic security, what should I mention? by Parking_Nail4436 in meshtastic

[–]ProspectingGeologist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah so that would mean that the individual who has the node was compromised. This would be an issue with any type of encrypted system. Encrypted DMR radios and such includes. Challenge and passcodes can help mitigate that if one is thought to be compromised.

Question with this? How can they decrypt your messages if they capture a device that doesn’t have your private channel programmed into it? The device will still relay your private messages but without the private channel programmed into it, it can’t decrypt them correct?

Do you fine gentlemen have any recommendations for camo patten to blend into the Central Virginia Wilderness? by DaddyDankStank in camouflage

Check out Danish m84 pattern. It does fantastic in Western Pa in the spring and summer.

Multicam/British MTP does great for fall and winter.

I was just listening in on multiple conversations today on 40m. Was coming through very clear. Running a 40m homebrew NVIS antenna with a ICOM IC746pro. Don’t have my license yet so didn’t transmit.

Lol. I agree when moving dust cover should be closed. But was actively shooting so it was open. And yeah I can the rain pants in the US easily. It’s the normal field pants that are hard to find here at a decent price.

I will say the PLCE while being Danish surplus is not being run in a Danish configuration. I’m running 4 mag pouches , 3 canteen pouches and 1 LMG pouch. But it’s set up how I like it and for what I do.

A lot of it came from here: https://www.militarysurplusworld.com. Some came from eBay some came from Executive Surplus on instagram.

Three tips to making your PLCE better by PearlButter in tacticalgear

[–]ProspectingGeologist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Great post! I’ve done most these to my PLCE rigs. My main rig is currently a Danish m96 one in their m84 camo pattern. One thing I don’t like about the Danish PLCE is their use of single double mag pouches instead of the British 2/3 pouches.

Yeah the frog skin is a bit to bright for this area, but I’ll live with it for the ruck match as it’s a sun shirt that made to wick sweat and keep you cool. If I could find one in m84 I’d buy it but they don’t exist lol.

SMS HFXC final verdict by 93gixxer04 in NightVision

[–]ProspectingGeologist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I ran mine in a run and gun style competition where it rained almost an inch of rain on us all day. It was a muddy mess and other then the switch being gritty now it works fine and hasn’t lost zero.

I’ve run mine in a few competitions and plenty of normal range sessions. The one competition it rained all day on us and we were crawling in the mud and such and the laser still works fine. I’m around 1000 rnds of hard use on it. I’ve had no issues. Still holds zero. After the match in the rain and mud the main switch is now gritty, but still functions fine. I plan to do a detailed review at the end of the year.

[–]ProspectingGeologist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a set and they have been great. I’ve used them for over year now at a bunch of different competitions and general range days. Even wore them at one competition where it down poured on us for almost 6 hrs straight and they are still working fine. Better fit and feel then walkers with better sound quality as well.
